Drink Package?

We usually sail Celebrity and enjoy their booking perks with free drink package being one of them. It's fairly inclusive of all alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.

We also enjoy Carnival and are booking the Pride again out of Baltimore.

#1- Does Carnival offer a drink package. AND #2-do they ever offer a FREE drink package as a perk?

Thank you fellow cruisers!

The casino offers a free drink card when you reach 1,500 points on your card which is pretty easy to do.....Also once you've established yourself with them lots of times you start out day 1 with the free drink card right away(depending on your gambling n play)

Yes and Yes. As described above. The drink package is for the duration of the cruise, has a drink $ limit of $10 and a limit of 15 drinks per day.

Gamble enough and a Drinks On Us card will be part of your inventory.

Since you've now ponied up the bucks for both cruise lines you know the differences in fares reflect all the amenities Celebrity offers are built in the cost of the cruise. They are a spectacular cruise line.

As far as I know they have never offered it as a booking perk, Celebrity and NCL do that but we both know the price is built into your cruise fare. Which is why Carnival tends to be a little cheaper than other lines.

Yes Carnival offers a package called Cheers, it is $57 per day which includes gratuities. The package gets you 15 drinks per day, menu price of the drink must be below $10 which covers about 99% of drinks. The package also includes unlimited sodas, does not include bottled water but that can now be purchased fro $2.99 per 12 pack. You must buy Cheers by the 2nd day, a little money saving tip people do is on day 1 they drink the 1 bottle of wine per person that you are allowed to carry on and order a couple drinks. Then buy cheers on day 2.

Thank you for the info.

I'm disappointed that bottle water, specialty coffees, juices etc are NOT included. However, I'm glad there is a drink package so we don't have to sign each time we want an alcoholic beverage!

I might be wrong but I still think you have to sign each time

Your still going to have to sign a zero'd out receipt each time, unless you in a US port then you will be signing for the tax on drinks. I feel like most bartenders give the receipts in hopes of getting an added on tip, but if you get friendly with a bartender they usually stop giving you the slip to sign. Orange juice is free for all passengers in the buffet, specialty coffee is not and the coffee in the buffet is kind of crappy. Bottled water available for purchase for $2.99 per 12 pack.

OP wanted to know if Carnival has it as an incentive when booking like Celebrity or NCL. The Drinks on Us card is totally different. The people gambling and getting the DOU card are actually paying a lot for it.

People always state that you pay way more for Celebrity and NCL but I am finding that is not always the case. I currently have an NCL 7 day cruise booked with the ultimate all you can drink package and it was only $499pp.

I've only been on Carnival, mostly because it is normally cheaper and we've enjoyed our past cruises. I just priced the Epic for Nov 26th (looks like that's the one you're referring to) and it is now $599/pp. A carnival ship leaving from the same port for the same number of days is only $479. We don't really drink that much, mostly just the wine we bring on board, so it's better for us to go with the $479. I can see if someone buys the drink package, it would be cheaper to go with NCL. I've also heard that he cabins are significantly smaller on NCL. If true, that would be something to consider for us.d

Yes, I see the price has gone up $100 since we booked. Glad we booked when we did.

We don't drink alot either but when Carnival wants almost $8 (with gratuity)for a budweiser that is pretty steep and when we did the math, the Epic won.

I haven't been on a NCL cruise in years and will see how we like it. I hear the entertainment is a lot better than Carnival's from every one I have talked to that have sailed both recently. If that is the case, then I am sure we will be booking more on NCL.

From what I've been told, even if you purchase CHEERS on the second day you are still charged for the # of days of your cruise.
