French Polynesia in 2017/18

Princess does not have a ship that home ports there anymore. Used to be the Pacific Princess.

You have some cruises that pass through there or may go one way to/from Tahiti, but not at all like the 10 day loop cruises Princess used to have there.

Princess does not have much of the schedule out for the second half of 2017. For the last several years at least, there has been a 28 day South Pacific cruise. It has gone to Hawaii (4 ports), Samoa (2) and French Polynesia (3) with an overnight in Papeete. In addition there are 18 sea days. It is round trip LA.

We took it last year and loved it so much we are booked for this year. It has been on the Crown the last few years, but she will be elsewhere in late 2017. There are reports the Emerald is booked in several of the ports at the right time, so hopes have risen that she will do the South Pacific then. Princess would likely announce the cruise (if offered) in April or May

Keep in mind that even the Pacific Princess at less then a thousand passengers is considered large by Tahitian port standards. Even on that ship pretty much all excursion capacity (cruise line and private) was filled early. If you plan to go on the bigger ships plan and book your activities early.

We are planning to return to Tahiti next year, but unlike the last time, on the Pacific princess, will not be on a Princess ship, due to the lack of a smaller ship option there. Most likely will be on Oceania.

There is a much anticipated announcement that should come from Princess in the first two weeks of May. When it comes there will be several cruisers posting about booking the "28 Day, Oct. 2017 Cruise to Hawaii, Samoa & Fr. Polynesia."

There are already quite a few that have been posting on : http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2299558&goto=newpost

It just happens to be a premature search for cruisers that are getting antsy!

Princess is phasing out their "small ship cruising" in favor of larger vessels that pack on the PAX.

I wouldn't expect to see any (RT) French Polynesia sailings any time soon, if ever again on Princess. Best bet is to look at other lines like Paul Gauguin, Oceania, Windstar etc. for such an itinerary.

Most all of the Princess' fleet can't even squeeze into the narrow/shallow channels in between the reefs to visit many of those islands anymore.

Same could be stated for sailing out of Venice for that matter too.
