Could someone please give me some info. on the classic drink package. Trying to decide if I should upgrade to premium. I have looked at the the info. that Celebrity list's for there drink packages. What I would like to find out is if the classic package covers frozen drinks or martini's. I realize the drinks can't be over $8.00 dollars. What isn't listed or what I am not sure about is our most martini's and frozen drinks over the eight dollar price??? I saw the liquors that are listed under the classic package and I am fine with them, it's just that I want to be able to have martini's and frozen drinks. I saw different postings that you can get a martini on the classic package but it would be a smaller glass. I also saw people post that most drinks are over the price of eight dollars and that if you order a drink over the allotted amount they charge you full price for that drink even though you have the classic drink package. Is there anywhere that list the up to date prices for the drinks on summit. Thank you!

My recommendation is to wait till you are on board. You will then see what's available and be able to make an easy decision to upgrade or not. Another advantage would be using your OBC, if you have any, to pay for the upgrade. :)

Don't waste your time. For $70 upgrade. It is well worth it! If you go over with a drink on the classic you get charged the full amount. If you do that on the Premium you just pay what's over. They never charged me overage on anything!

Frozen drinks like Piña Colada, Mudslide are covered by the classic package as long as they are made from the liquors on the classics package. The large martini's at the Martini Bar are not included in the Classic package. You can get a standard size martini at the other bars and they are covered by the lassie package.

Rule of thumb -

(a) are you happy with the liquor and beers offered under the classic package?

(b) are you happy with the types of drinks available under the classic package?

© do you stick to only a couple of drinks around the pool or at dinner?

(d) are you content with managing within your drinks package?

(e) are you OK with having to pay full price for any drinks not covered?

If you say "yes" to 3 or more of the above then I'd say the classic package will work well for you.

I ended up with "Go Best" so I got the premium drinks package and between better glasses of wine at dinner and asking for premium margaritas and daiquiris it probably would have paid for itself.

Is it because the drinks you ordered were never over the max price or were they being kind?

I'm assuming the former.

I had to pay for all of mine that were over the amount.:(

Granted it was only a few $$ each, but I always got charged.

Does this mean that there are no martinis at the martini bar that qualify under the classic package? I thought I remembered my adult kids really enjoying the martini bar with their classic package??

Usually you can get just a smaller version of a classic martini, or something like a cosmo with the classic package at the Martini Bar.

The speciality martinis, which is pretty much the entire menu, are over the limit for the classic package and they will not make them smaller.

Not saying you can't have them, but you will pay full price for them.

It's worth the upgrade to premium. The price of one martini per day covers the upgrade cost.

martini bar PRIMARILY is for SPECIALTY martinis. Note capitals. Normal martini can be had as frozen drinks with non premium alcohol. Same for beer with some non lite or Budweiser varieties, ditto most wines you would want. Had both packages and will stick with Classic unless upgraded at "no cost" due to cabin catagory.

Does everyone in the cabin have to upgrade or can just one? I'm fine with Jack on the rocks, but wife would like to upgrade.

If the classic comes with the booking, you can upgrade without your wife having to. Also if no drink packages chosen, you can buy one and your wife doesn't have to or she can get a soda package and you the drinkone.

The Martini Bar is often very busy and they will direct you to another bar if you ask for something that is covered on the classic package. YMMV but that should be the general rule of thumb. You should never expect that they'll serve you anything unless you're willing to pay or you have the premium package.

Is there any drink package that is worth it if the person doesn't drink alcohol?

There are different tiers of packages and a few that feature only non-alcoholic choices. If you're getting an alcoholic package as part of your cruise fare, they all include non-alcoholic choices, too. Look under Onboard Experience for the Beverage Packages page on the Celebrity website and it lays out what's what.

The Classic Non-Alcoholic currently starts at $18/day. You just have to do the math for yourself. The itinerary (off the ship on lots of port days?) and how much you plan to drink of what type of beverage should also be a consideration.

I had the soda-only package on one cruise because I bought alcoholic drinks a la carte for cheaper than the package would cost + I didn't want any specialty coffee or juice or bottled water. The soda package pays for itself after the third soda, which is very easy for me to do. It's that type of math you have to decide for yourself.

This was our experience on the Constellation recently. They would not make a smaller martini - but would make another drink. My son (who had the classic package) ordered a gimlet - and they accommodated him.

I'm sorry if this answered somewhere, I've searched and haven't found an answer. If I go with the Premium package that includes bottled water, can I get more than one bottle at a time from a bar? I know I've read where you can't order more than one alcoholic drink at a time but haven't seen an answer specifically for bottled water. I might also want to get two Red Bulls at a time as well.
