GSC Cabanas

Hi! We've rented two large cabanas for our upcoming Sky cruise in June. I understand that there are attendants to bring drinks, but do they also bring food from the buffet? We also intend on ordering food from the cabana menu, but we'll have small kids with us and want to make sure they're taken care of, as well. Also, how far are the restrooms from the cabanas?

The restrooms are close to the cabanas. I have read of servers bringing drinks but did not see anyone doing this. I have not read of anyone bringing food to the cabanas other than the included amentities and whatever is ordered from the menu. It's about a 15 minute walk or so to the buffet.

When we were in our cabana, there were many people circulating taking drink orders, but they never once asked about food (granted, I didn't ask them to bring something either!). There was so much food in the cabana, we did not have too much interest in the buffet. Should you choose to take the kids there, you may want to take the tram to save the 15 minute walk with the little ones.

So whatever we order off the cabana menu will be more than enough? :) We'll have approximately 8 ppl per cabana

And I've already planned on taking the tram :p

The cabanas are the best part of our cruise. Some are closer to the rest rooms than others. Go to the excursion desk as soon as you can, we were able to select our cabana last year.

You may order as much off the menu as you wish as long as you are willing to pay for everything that exceeds your credit, so you can certainly ensure that you'll have enough food for 8 people. The menu will be in your cabin when you board and you need to turn it in to the ShorEx desk no later than the day before you visit GSC.

Hi,, which cabanas would you suggest?

Did you have a large or a small?

Are they are located in different areas? Thanks.

We had a large cabana on our Sky cruise in March. The attendant started with drinks, then started bringing us trays of different drinks to try, and worked their way up to bringing us trays of food from the buffet. Granted, this was a charter cruise where most guests were down by the stage/concert, so we weren't taking service away from any other cabanas. Our attendant was just completely fantastic. So yes, they have been known to bring food from the buffet to the cabanas. And yes, we tipped him ridiculously well throughout the day. :D

You can also make do with the food you order with your cabana credit and the fruit, chips and salsa, etc already in the cabana. Completely depends on how hungry you are. We spent the day snorkeling and walking to and from the lagoon and were famished towards the end of the day. The tray of pizza, hot dogs, and burgers was greatly appreciated. :) Hope you enjoy your Sky cruise - she's a great little ship!

Hi, can you tip the attendant in cash or did you have to use your Sign n Sail card? Thanks.

Either way, you can tip in cash or on a bar receipt (you'd need to ask for one if not paying by the drink).

Just back from GSC and had a large cabana. You will love it! Bathrooms are in a blue building not to far away. You will have to climb a few steps to get to the cabanas. abc9d4d2fb65ab1be0a7f7a3cd63e4cb.jpg

Didn't ask for food brought to us from the buffet but did order sushi and shrimp cocktail off the menu.

Plus we had fresh fruit and chips and salsa there waiting for us. c75d2657d586db132eec620e1b4ab11f.jpgf2974c235da16a25c9437057074af897.jpgI know that another group had rented two cabanas and NCL didn't put them side by side. You might want to call and make sure they are next to each other. Have a wonderful time!!

We tipped solely in cash because we never once went to the bar ourselves. We were just happy to worry about nothing besides whether to swim in the ocean or the lagoon, or whether to order a mimosa or a margarita. :D

Off the Breakaway 3 weeks ago, We rented a cabana (Big enough for 6 people), we received no food! We were given 6 bottles of water. Someone did come around every couple of hours to see if we needed drinks

NOTE:

This thread was started in May 2016!  Many things have changed since then, so do NOT expect that you will be able to book a cabana.  Do NOT expect to receive the previously offered $50 food credit.  Also, pricing for Cabanas and Villa can vary wildly, depending on "supply and demand!".
