RTR-Mom Posted July 7, 2016 #426 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Great review York. Enjoying the scopes. I was a little annoyed when someone called about work during the belly flop scope. Really, who calls about work during work hours? We were on the Grandeur in 2009 to Key West. Royal still did this, but I think you had to wear your robe to VCL to get to see it! Enjoy the rest of the cruise. Will be following till the end. I am so sad cruises don't still do this.
kandj05 Posted July 7, 2016 #427 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Ok, Harmony cruise we have to go there. Lisa has no desire to go in August with Owen and honestly she is more of a meat and potatoes girl. She'd tag along if we went as a group but I couldn't get her to go with just me. Edit: Peer pressure is a wonderful thing. Kurt and I always get the steak cooked on the hot stone. Yum...yum!We are not sushi eaters. I bet Lisa will like it.
Rare A&L_Ont Posted July 7, 2016 #428 Share Posted July 7, 2016 (edited) Only once? If I had to guess Sabor a few times, we should be able to get you and Maureen into the CK, Chops and Jamie's, JR etc. She might beat you at Park Cafe with the RB sandwich, while I destroy the chips bags. I'd like to try Azumi but I could guarantee she would not do wonderland. Important choices I tell you. Oh, Lisa and I also have the UBP for our/this sailing. I suspect I will have a hard time getting to the flow rider for advanced in the morning. Good thing is I have a year to prepare. Yorkvillain Posted July 7, 2016 Author #430 Share Posted July 7, 2016 I have loved the review, and my wife has too, through me laughing out loud and then reading the post to her. Can you recommend a server/bartender to look for. Also, do they have any beers which do not have Mexican names, brewed in FLA and owned by a Belgian company?:) Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm sorry I never ended up having a favorite bartender. And since I always default to Corona I never really paid attention to what else they serve. Basically anytime I go to a bar I look for Corona and Tito's. Actually I'm lying right now. I had a Molson Canadian for Canada Day. There are a ton of other beers also. Yorkvillain Posted July 7, 2016 Author #432 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Izumi tonight was fantastic. We had only been there once before but that was for hibachi on the Oasis. Half-eaten complimentary edamame. We polished off two bowls. Half-eaten seaweed salad

Can you let us know if they have also changed on Grandeur. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your cruise.
Philly Steve Posted July 7, 2016 #436 Share Posted July 7, 2016 I guess we'll have to get our drinks from the R Bar, then schlep on up to the Schooner for the windows A good plan, indeed. ;)
Thetrail Posted July 7, 2016 #437 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Thanks for the quick response. Just what I wanted to hear. Every time we cruise on the Grandeur, the overflow takes over the whole South Pacific Lounge right outside the Diamond lounge. And we cruise about 3 times a year on the Grandeur. Thanks again..... Gwen :) Has always been just the opposite for us on Grandeur...the DL and the CL are never ever crowded? We sail March, April and August on Grandeur.....K.O.:)

coneyraven Posted July 7, 2016 #448 Share Posted July 7, 2016 So long Grandeur. We had a blast. Final thoughts and Cruise Compasses to come later on. Thank You for your insightful, funny and entertaining review and periscopes. Makes me look forward to my 5-nighter to Bermuda all the more, now, if only the repairs to the gangway would be completed by then.
