Koningsdam and the quest for water.....

........don't wish to spend a mint on water cause that truly is our beverage of choice. Would bring our own water bottles or purchase bottle on first day of cruise and continue to refill but where would that be?

Once we embark in Rome do not want to go on an adventure to hunt down and carry a case to the ship......REALLY?! Admire anyone who has the fortitude to do this!

Is there a place where bottles could be filled up with cold water w/o killing our OBC?

Use your tab water in your cabin and put the bottles in your mini refrigerator to cool.

There is ice water in the dispensers in the Lido -- BUT you are not allowed to put your bottles under them to fill them.

That's what we do too.

If you want water from the Lido, just use a clean glass to fill your bottle.

We also drink HAL's tap Water.. We take insulated bottles with us, fill them up every evening with our cabin's tap water & put them in either the fridge or an Ice bucket..Have been doing it for years..:)

BTW we don't even drink our own Tap water at home as only use filtered water, but HAL's water TAP is excellent.. Also drink it in the MDR..

1) Bring empty reusable bottle(s)

2) Fill said bottles in cabin sink (ship tap water is better than basically any landmass water you'll ever find)

4) Put full bottle(s) in minifridge if not drinking immediately to keep chilled

5) Profit

Can we request a pot w/ hot water in our room?

On celebrity, our room steward knew that we'd bring a cup of hot water to our room the first 2 night, then every evening, they left a water bottle for us.. The ones that keeps it warm.

We bring our refillable sports bottles with us and grab glasses of water from the lido and fill them up. You may also ask a steward and they will fill the bottle for you. As stated previously you are not allowed to fill your water bottles directly from the water machine for sanitary reasons. Our favorite spot to fill our bottles is the Dive In because of the ability to fill full glasses of crushed ice from the machine and dump those into the bottles.

Room Service will bring you a pot of hot water. It's a thermal pitcher style. But be aware that those pots are also used for coffee, and could have a trace of after taste mix in the hot water.

I did not really like the taste of the water in the room: tasted of chlorine. However, the water in the Lido, Dive Inn, New York Deli all tasted very good.

As there's a single potable water supply, I don't know why your cabin's tap water tasted more of chlorine than the water in other venues.

On the Christening Cruise people were putting liter bottles right on the water spigot. Others were putting thermal coffee mugs on the spigots for coffee. The couple in the cabin next to us were coughing for three weeks. They were caught putting their water bottles on the spigots. There were no signs on the ship when we debarked on May 29th. Maybe this contributed to all of the people with respiratory infections. I asked one man if he had washed his bottle and he said "no." I mentioned this on our survey, so hopefully they have put up a sign and started to monitor the situation.
