At Sea Days

We usually sleep in, then have brunch. Then we usually head out onto one of the more quite decks and read or just relax. We might do some trivia or people watch in the Lobby. Then we get cleaned up and ready for an evening of partying. LOL We bar hop, go the nightclub, etc. Lots of fun. :)

DH and I are both introverts who do not like crowds at all. Obviously, the ship is very crowded on sea days, so we adapt to avoid the crowds.

We get up at 6am and walk an hour on the walking track. We get the added bonus of enjoing the sunrise while we walk.

Quick shower and then breakfast - usually the buffet, but on occasion we'll go to the dining room. No problem getting a secluded table for 2 in either venue that early.

Adult's only pool for about an hour of sun. Since we are out there by 8:30 or 9, we don't have to fight for good loungers. We're pretty much finished before anyone else even shows up. We also avoid the time when the sun's rays are most intense and the oppressive heat.

We then find some shaded area to read, relax and watch the ocean roll by. Generally, these areas are pretty empty in the morning when most people are wanting the sun.

Because we get up so early, we are usually ready by late morning to return to the cabin for a bit of a nap.

If we don't take a nap, we eat an early lunch in the buffet. If we do take a nap, we eat later. Either way, we avoid the crowds.

Reading in the shade or in our cabin, depending on the crowds and noise level on deck.

Shower and get ready for dinner.

Dinner. We do Your Time and eat when they first open (usually 5:30 or 5:45). No problem getting a more secluded table for 2 at that hour.

Comedy club or seaside theater or show, depending on which looks most interesting that evening. Predictably, we don't do very late nights on cruises (unless we really like the late-night comedian) since we get up at 6am.

DH and I are serious cruise addicts which our family and friends find humorous considering our introverted nature, aversion to crowds and love of quiet. However, we've just figured out how to make cruising work for our personalities.

We enjoy the quiet hours of the morning. Walk the deck designed for walking. Hot tub. Breakfast in dining room. See fun times and decide what events we want to participate or watch. Trivia or Pool games. Tandoor, Guys burgers if on that ship or MDR. Wander the ship, casino or chill in a bar and watch the ocean go by. Any thing that strikes the fancy at the moment.

Can't wait to enjoy the next cruise.

What is your favorite thing to do on days spent at sea? Pool? Bars? Casino?

We'll have two consecutive days on the way home in March. Just dreaming about all of the things I can do on my floating resort.

I'm thinking about doing the behind the scenes tour this cruise.

Other than that, I usually take it easy and have plenty to drink and eat.

On sea days, I like to go to the casino when they open at 7AM to gamble before it gets too smoky. And then I go to sea day brunch. After brunch, I like to find a quiet spot to lay in the sun, and then return to the casino for the slot tournament. I find a tasty beverage or two to enjoy during my activities. In late afternoon, I return to my cabin to shower and dress for the evening. And that is a perfect sea day to me. I love sea days! I booked a 7 day cruise this week because it has 3 sea days instead of the usual 2.

Ok.....Maybe I'm weird... I get up really early, get a coffee and go out on deck to watch the sunrise over the ocean ( because it's a sea day I can nap later on a lounger in the shade or in my room). When hubby gets up then we go for breakfast....hang out at the adult pool, have a frozen drink. Read, cat nap, lunch. Check out the shops maybe.......more pool or hot tub time. If there's something in the Fun Times that interests us we may go...... Everything is unscheduled except the sun rise and sun set....... and probably the movie in the evening.

The pictures I have seen of the Serenity on the Sunshine makes me believe that I may spend more time there on that ship.
