Oasis Deck 8 vs Deck 12

I am currently booked on an upcoming Oasis of the Seas cruise in a large hump balcony cabin on deck 8 (8198). I have been looking around and have discovered a room in the same category is now available on deck 12 (12596). Any thoughts on which deck or stateroom is better and why? Thanks for the help!

If it is the same category cabin (D3 and D3, for example), then the cabins are basically identical except for if the bed is by the balcony or by the closet. The only difference, then, would be location. Deck 8 is closer to Central Park, Boardwalk, restaurants, etc and farther from the pool. Deck 12 is closer to the pool and Windjammer but farther away from everything else. It really just depends what location you'd prefer.

Personally I'd probably stick with 8.

We were just on deck 9. I would say Deck 8 would be my choice. It is closer to everything on the ship except Windjammer, Spa, and Pool deck. It is always easier going up on elevators and using the stairs to head to lower areas.

Deck 8 is my favorite , as others have said , close to the Park Cafe .

Short walk up the stairs from the promenade too.

I booked the same level on the Anthem, but haven`t sailed on her yet .

I was on the 7th on the Serenade , didn`t like the balcony over the lifeboats,

so deck 8 for me always moving forward.

We like deck 8 because of central park. We have had a JS on a hump twice so we little bigger balcony and we're right on central park. We love eating at the cafe there and spending time in the park. It is very convenient for breakfast or a snack (in case we just don't get enough to eat on a cruise!).

As others have said Deck 8 puts you closer to the non-pool action which many enjoy, including us. Deck 12 puts you closer to the pool action. In all reality both are great options as there really isn't a bad location on a cruise ship. :)
