You make some very good points that I had not considered.

I think that personality differences can also alter our perceptions of others.

We all know that not everyone "clicks" with everyone else.

I have had HD's that I did not care for, even though I knew that they did an excellent job.

I have loved and respected nearly every officer and crew member that I have met on all of our 20 some NCL cruises though.

I am American, and I also appreciate all of the services offered, no matter how small.

Ditto Judy. 100% agree.

Hi,

We leave on the STAR in 9 days and I have heard that Hano will

be our concierge. I have also heard that he is a rather tall

German man and that he is very nice.

Can anyone tell me anything else about Hano or other officers who are on the STAR

right now?

Thanks so much.

Judy

Judy,

Hanno is tall and is German and is very kind. He may appear shy but I think that is more the language than anything else.

When I buried my husband at sea off the Star, Hugo's last cruise, Hanno snuck in behind me at the dispersal sight, which midst all the lines was beautifully 'decorated', and unbeknownst to me took my iPad from the GSC and behind me with his tall 6'+ frame, took a video of the ash dispersal and rose throwing. I was so very touched and then the Internet Manager was able to take that video apart frame by frame so that I was able to pick out a few individual pictures to add to the albums which I prepared for my children along with a Tbs of the ashes in a vintage enameled pillbox container.

Kindness, in general, begets kindness. Love makes the world go 'round. Trite but true.

Have fun on your trip !

Cinci

Hanno is wonderful. Our favorite concierge. Only explanation is that he smiles 24/7 and has a magic wand in his back pocket.

As of my cruise on the Getaway on Feb. 12-19, the Captain was Lars Bergstrom. But he said he was taking an assignment closer to home when the Getaway heads for Europe.

Who is the captain on the getaway and the star currently

How long do they go on vacation for ? Do they always return to the same ship?

Depends on how long they have been working but 2 months is not uncommon.

Not necessarily, it depends on whether they want to and/or if their replacement is "permanent". It also depends if they have applied for a position on another ship, often by promotion
