Corkscrew???

I'm bringing the "allowed" 2 bottles of wine. Is a corkscrew available in room or must I bring one. Thanks in advance. :)

Last two ships our room stewards(four different) have claimed they no longer can carry a corkscrew. So, you had to call room service. Now I am packing a travel corkscrew.

I always pack a corkscrew . Much better than the ones on the ships. Doesn't take up any room

a corkscrew without the foil cutting knife is allowed in carry-on luggage. Check the TSA.

We just request our steward on first day together with a wine glass. Never had a problem.

I always pack a cork screw in our checked luggage that has a 1.25 inch foil cutter on it. I've never had any issues with any of the Cruise lines with it.

There is always one pre-packed in my Dopp Kit (toiletries bag). It goes with me cruising or camping or wherever I go. It doesn't take much room or add much weight.

I used to pack a corkscrew in my checked luggage. But now I look for screwcap wines. It's a lot easier. There are some very nice ones available.

Rules regarding corkscrews in the USA are different from those elsewhere. Elsewhere is likely to be more stringent. What is OK in your carry on in the USA may be confiscated somewhere else. We know from experience as security in both the UK and Canada has confiscated ours. Best to pack them in checked luggage regardless.

We now always have a cork screw in our checked bag. It is one of our "must have" items (even if we never use it). "Be prepared", the old boy scout motto. :D
