If the ship docks back at port at 8 a.m., what time do you usually get off?

It depends on a variety of factors. How long it takes customs to clear the ship, how many customs agents are assigned to the port that day, what group you are in to get off the ship, etc.

The ship will probably be back well before 8am. I have been off the ship by 8:30am. It all depends when customs clear the ship. Just note you need to be out of your stateroom by a certain time with all your belongings whether or not the ship is cleared.

In most of my cruises, the ship was back between 5 am and 7 am. In those cases, Customs has cleared the ship by 7:30 and we have started debarkation.

 

Since being Platinum, we have usually decided to do self assist and have been off by 8:00 and once even at the MIA airport as early as 8:30, through security and at my gate by 9:20 am.

 

FLL is easy and at the airport by 8:30

 

Seattle, with the 45min drive to SeaTec by 8:45

 

But that's not what you asked, You said " eat breakfast, a few of you (meaning more than 2 in your group) getting through Customs. The longer you wait to get off, the longer the line will be to get through Customs. Seems like however much enjoyment people get from going on a cruise, seems they can't wait to get home. Everybody's in a hurry to be the first off the ship.

We usually get off the ship relaxed at 9am.

We take our time and usually are walking off around 9 or 9:30. The ship on the cruises I have been on has usually be in port before 7 am. This last time we took our time getting up left our stateroom around 8 am went to the lido and had a relaxing breakfast then got off the ship at a leisurely pace. Next month my flight isn't till 8 PM so I am not going to be in a big rush again. I have however did self disembark and been off the ship before 8:30 am.

It depends on when, where, customs, ETC.

 

I have been on cruise were self assist started as early as 6:50 (Jacksonville the first cruise) and then about 8:15 the 2nd time from there (due to the tide and clearance under the bridge).

we get off usually around 9:30 - 10:30 depending on when they say it's last call to get off. We don't like waiting in lines and aren't morning people though.

As we drive to the east coast ports we get off as soon as we are able to get a jump on the road (we park at port to have our car right there and waiting). We are morning people and are usually up having our coffee on the balcony to watch docking as we arrive back.

In your debarkation packet, placed in your cabin the last full day at sea, you will see the final estimated docking time and time they anticipate letting the first self assist folks off the ship. You will also receive a listing of where food and drink are being served and the hours for those places along with a time when you should be cleared out of your cabin. That will be how long you can linger inside your cabin. And the final time any place is open to serve food and drink will give you a good sense of when last call to debark will be. If anything changes, due to customs or inspections, etc., announcements will be made. So get up walk around, relax, enjoy breakfast, and when they push you off, walk slowly:D

We usually have a long drive that day so we do self assist and get an early start so say 15 minutes after debarkation starts or even less if we can

On the LAST morning....you will have to be up and OUT of your cabin early....on PORT days, we take our time..and leave after the rushers.....

It depends when the ship is cleared.

The ship is usually back to port before 8, but the time that debarkation can begin will vary from cruise to cruise. There have been cruises that we didn't leave the ship until , but on this last cruise our of NOLA, we were off the ship and pack to our car (which we had parked at Fulton parking and had to be shuttled) by 8:15ish.

After the ship docks, it can take a couple of hours to get off depending on which group you're in. Try not to book a return flight before noon to be on the safe side.

If we dock at 7.30 in Vancouverfrom Seward, what's usually the last time we can get off. FWIW the ship sails back at 4.30.

We drive to the port and are not morning people, plus we want to stop in Naples for lunch on the way home, so we have breakfast in the MDR, so it's not as quick as the buffet. We're usually strolling off somewhere around 9:30 or so. It's only about 2.5 hours or so to home from Miami, FLL, or Tampa. Good placement!

It depends on the government. We docked before 8am in Galveston last week and were supposed to debark at 8:45 (Diamonds who put out the luggage the night before). We did not get off the ship until 9:30. It seems many of our fellow guests did not have proper ID and held things up at Immigration and Customs.

 

Once we did get off, we grabbed a porter, found our luggage and were directed to a line with only 1 other family in front of us. The officer looked at our faces, then down at our passports, and handed them back without saying a word. Easiest pass through CBP we have ever had!

 

Sadly, the people in the next lane got caught trying to bring in a coconut. That had to cost them! We also watched some fools who were carrying a liquor box stand there and tell TABC they had no liquor or cigarettes. We saw the officers moving in on them as we exited the building. Geez, why is it so hard for people to follow the laws?

We always debark ASAP with Platinum debarkation. Usually by 8 am.
