john watson Posted January 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) Sunshine Boy has probably given you the best option. Which includes simply driving to the terminal and having your cases removed and your car taken while you simply walk in to the terminal. Your car is driven away by the valet driver who parks the car at the terminal. Should your ship return to a different terminal your car will have been moved to that one upon return. You collect your keys from the CPS kiosk as you disembark and they give you your keys back when you show them your receipt which you were originally given by the collecting valet driver at the start. They disclose exactly where they have parked your vehicle, row E, G etc. Other operators are available and you can check by googling the cruise parking at Southampton and viewing by cruise line covered the different websites operators have. Many will be cheaper than CPS but it's all about convenience. The cheapest will be parking wrong side of the water with transfers in a big mini bus for you and your cases. All levels of service will be found between with various bits excluded or done in a bit less convenient fashion. Most websites do a cost quote on their website. Finally, Hotel and parking is available at Hotels such as Holiday Inn Herbert Walker Avenue which integrate parking and taxi transfer; both ways, costs into your basic hotel rate. Regular cruisers will have their favourite system and swear by it. Regards John Edited January 26, 2017 by john watson

majortom10 Posted January 26, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2017 CPS will no doubt be the dearest but consider Parking4cruises you pull up in the same area and the porters will take away your suitcases from your car and then you drive your car a very short distance and take your car to the short stay car park to meet the rep from the company and then walk to terminal. On your return you proceed with your suitcases on a trolley to the same car park and pick up your car, you will walk no further than you would with CPS and possibly save a good amount of money compared to CPS and get a just as good a service. Josy1953 Posted January 26, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 26, 2017 CPS do not park your car at the terminal during your cruise when the valet driver drives your car away it will stay within the port area but could be 2-3 miles away from the terminal. We usually use CPS and always check the mileage on the car before handing it over to them and we have never had more than 1 mile added to the mileage and that was when we went out of Mayfair terminal and back into Ocean terminal. the english lady Posted January 26, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 26, 2017 Would add we have used cps and parking4cruises and been happy with both. Always a good idea to take pix of your car before handing over so if worst comes to the worst you have proof of what it was like when handed over. jeanlyon Posted January 26, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 26, 2017 Parking4cruises definitely cheaper and very little difference. You drive to the terminal, drop the bags and then drive across the road to the short term car park. After a few checks and signatures, you walk back to the terminal. Simple. ascot2012 Posted January 27, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2017 CPS take photos of your car as they are giving you the receipt and taking your keys, we have used them a few times and found the service very good, a few years ago I had to give them the keys to a 5 week old car (that wasn't easy:)) but there was no problems, they might be a few pounds more expensive but it's a good service in our experience. kevinyork Posted January 29, 2017 #12 Share Posted January 29, 2017 Many thanks for all the replies, we have booked with CPS ..£92 which we are happy with for 7 days parking....:) We've always used CPS for our P&O cruises due to the convenience. Have they increased prices though? On our Celebrity and Royal cruises this year we are again using ABP who are those cruise lines official parking agents and it's £103 for 14 nights. £92 seems a lot for 7 nights. CPS and ABP (as the official car parking companies used to have very similar pricing). Also on occasion with CPS you have to wait to enter the drop off lane but with ABP you self park next to the ship and the bags are taken from you in the carpark. The Wilkies Posted February 17, 2017 #13 Share Posted February 17, 2017 We have used parkonmydrive.com for several years now. Excellent and last October was £85 for 2 weeks. The drive we have used is about 5 minutes away. Homeowner drops you off at the terminal and picks you up from the same place.
daiB Posted February 17, 2017 #14 Share Posted February 17, 2017 As we have so far to come we always stay in a hotel close to Southampton the night before therefore if we do not have free CPS parking we leave it at the hotel. For us much the cheapest option. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
