Just booked this cruise for November 2017. Has anyone been on this cruise, can't seem to find any info on this. Also I have only been on the Escape and Getaway (big ships). How does the Dawn compare? Also I have booked cabin 10552. Any info on this. Thanks for all your info.

I can only compare Dawn to Breakaway (which is a sister to Getaway)

Things I liked about Dawn even though it is much older ship.

1) Dawn is smaller and easier to navigate. Also due to a size everything (including musical lounges) are closer, so atmosphere is more festive.

2) One does not have to book evening shows

3) Pool areas seem to be more adequate for the number of pax than on larger ships

4) Casino actually has walls so cigarettes' smoke actually stays inside.

We just booked this cruise for T'giving week. Had to jump on the 3rd and 4th passenger free deal, and it fits in perfectly with the kids's school break. We also got the UBP, but the itinerary is port-heavy, so it might be a challenge to make it pay for itself!

We are also booked this November (on the first cruise after the repo, I believe). Will be watching this thread. We have been on smaller ships, but our last two cruises were on Breakaway Class ships. The cruises before that were so long ago, I simply can't remember the details. If you happen to be booked on the November 12 cruise, jump over and get yourself on the roll call!

I'm going on the Dawn for the 3rd time next month, first time for me since it came out of dry dock last year. I loved my cruise from San Juan last year. Please do yourself a favor and fly in a few days early and enjoy some time in San Juan. It is beautiful and we had so much fun.

What kind of pop is offered on ncl and how does the air work is it like carnivals where they add it to your booking and you pay it down as your cruise or Royals choice air?

Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

You can buy your air transportation through NCL, but why would you want to do that? You get no control over what airline you are put on, no control over the choice of flights, or the time of day you fly. You can do much better booking your own flights.

By pop I'm assuming you mean soda - can't help you there as I don't drink it.

We're looking at this cruise also for 26 Nov. Cruising out of San Juan is great because you're already there! Traffic to the port on embarkation day is terrible. Get there as early as you can. Dawn is a great little ship. Our favorite part of the ship is the pool deck. Lots of room for everyone with what we call stadium seating. I may just book it today.

Doing the 10 day cruise over New Year's Eve. Excited to get some information on the Dawn.

We are on this one also. Great rates if you were able to book when the had the 3rd and 4th passenger free offer.

First time I ever saw that on a holiday cruise.

BOOKED!:D I feel so much better having a cruise to look forward to. This is a great itinerary. We've been to each island with the exception of Martinique.

We are booked on the dawn for the Dec 17th sailing so any info will be helpful as first time on the Dawn and out of San Juan. Any recommendations on places to stay will be a help.

We stayed at the El San Juan Hotel & Casino twice when we cruised out of Puerto Rico. Loved it both times. Friends stayed at the Sheraton in Old San Juan, which was very convenient to the port.

So I booked this on Sat the 18th of Mar. On Monday the sale changed offering more OBC. I called this morning and got an additional $200 OBC. We're now up to over $800 OBC! Check out yours, you never know.
