Summer 2019 collection

Do not know if it applies all summer, but the school holiday 14 nighters to the Med now only have 6 POC rather than 7. This seems to be a result of some midnight deparures from Barcelona.

I know these late departures appeal to some passengers but I am quite happy with early evening departures, and more ports.

The base balcony prices seem less than last year, but I reseve judgement until I see the higher grade prices.

For the cruises we have looked at the prices seem high. Especially on Oriana and Aurora.

Can't answer your question but can confirm from the new brochure that Oriana is sailing round-trip Southampton cruises between May & October 2019, varying in length between 3 and 19 nights. The only usual region she does not appear to be visiting is the Baltics.

Having spoken to P&O, it seems Adonia's aren't finalised yet, and Oriana's were slow in being put on. Why they can't get them all loaded the day before and then just press a button to load them all the next day is beyond me, but there you go.

I only look at the inside cabin prices Dai but they seem pretty reasonable for both Oriana & Aurora on the Med cruises.

We have to look at suites, for the scooter.

Well I'm booked! As we have visited over 50 ports with P&O, a Med Cruise with 10 ports, 7 of which are brand new for us, was too much to resist, so I have changed an early 19 cruise that we had already booked (and was a repeat of one we are doing in early 18) for this one.

I have pre-registered for an Accessible Balcony Cabin, of which there are only 4 of the grade on the ship, all in the same place and we are happy with any of them (we will be allocated the cabin number on 12th but are now guaranteed one of the 4).

Couldn't use the 5% discount I had discovered through this site (as that can't be used until the official on-sale date, by which time the accessible cabins may be gone), but I still got a great deal that I am very happy with, comprising 5% past passenger discount PLUS 5% Peninsular Cruise discount PLUS £150 Welcome Home offer additional OBC PLUS £50 additional OBC for having done a ship visit PLUS another £100 OBC for some reason that I didn't query (!) PLUS free parking and, because I couldn't use the 5% discount, the £100 fee for changing a booking was waived. Best of all, after taking all of the discounts into consideration, we now have a 19 day cruise in a balcony cabin for just £600 more than the 12 night cruise it replaces. All of this through my excellent Personal Cruise Specialist at P&O (although the role technically no longer exists, the staff are still there and are more than happy to deal directly with passengers that they have looked after previously).

I am looking at 4 at the moment but I book through a TA. So I will chat with my friend later.

Back to backs are involved, every little helps.

Indeed! Am I correct in thinking that you get an additional 5% of both cruises, if you do a back to back?

10% off both! Now that's tempting. I can see why you do so many back-to-backs Dai! Given all the debate on how early cruises are on sale these days, I must be the only person already looking forward to the 2020 cruises being released, as it will be the first year of my retirement, so we can start to get really serious about this cruising business!

Hi....not sure if this is the cruise we are considering in April 2019 but sounds like you have got a good deal.Is it possible to tell me what the 5% discount is that you discovered through this site in addition to the 5% past passenger discount Plus another 5% Peninsular Cruise discount...whatever that is. Really sounds like you have a very helpful PCS.

Correction - just double checked and the 19 days is actually only costing me £338 more than the 12 days cruise was (same ship, same grade of cabin) - and that's for 2 of us. I guess that's going to be the cheapest 7 days at sea we will ever have :D

Just another point....we are due to sail this coming Saturday....would it be better to wait until we are aboard so that maybe we would receive a better deal for an April 2019 cruise...we do not have any need for any particular cabin.

Apparently, for reasons that I have never fully understood (and certainly don't agree with), we are not supposed to give details of where the best deals are, but I believe that 5% discount is pretty standard for all travel agents. BUT we prefer to deal direct with P&O and I found (through this forum) that if you are over 50 and join (free of charge) a website for those with similar colour hair (first clue) who may surf the net (second, more obvious clue), you can get 5% off booking direct with P&O - and it's on top of all other offers. Will only work on Summer 19 cruises if you book after 12th September though.

Hi....many thanks for that. Took me a while to figure the clues out...."conundrums" aren't my strongest point.... but I got there in the end :D . We set sail this coming Saturday so it may be better to wait until then. I did phone P&O for a price ...they could offer 5% & 5% but she had never heard of Welcome Home offer so I am not sure if I am entitled to that.

Did they give you the full price for cabin grade etc.?

Hi...Yes they gave me the full price initially then discounted it by 5% past passenger plus 5% Peninsular club discount for the cabin/grades that I enquired about but no Welcome Home offer

You have to have a code, which was sent out. Have you cruised recently? I think it is a short term promotion.

No problem. The code is PF5 but you can only use it if you have been sent the mailing having recently cruised. When I called P&O armed with the code, they applied it before could even ask about it!

Basically, you get additional on board credit based on the length of the cruise you book. The extra OBC is (per person)

4-7 nights £25pp

8-14 nights £50pp

15-21 nights £75pp

22 or more £100pp

Well that's good to know. I'm sitting here with pen and paper plus brochures trying to guess the increase for different cabins :(. I'll phone later in the week that will be much easier.

Well, as Oceana fans we were hoping to sail on her for our 25th anniversary in 2019. Sadly, looking at the dates we really do not like the cruise itineraries at available all --- we wanted more Eastern Med and it is mostly the Western Med and parts of France :-( The one we like doesn't cover the anniversary, so no point.

Oh well, we will now look out for Princess as their cruise for 2018 is amazing and we can transfer our points over.

Disappointed, but worse things can happen...
