Live from the ghost ship Harmony of the Seas

Any idea what movie??[/quote

Some on the cruise think it is a movie with Christian Bale but I do not know that for sure.

The ship has started to come alive the pool has about 1/4 of the deck chairs used or with towels on them. Chair hogs may be alive and well even on an almost empty cruise.

Caption Johnny said at his mid day report at least nobody has to worry about line anywhere on the ship. The Windjammer was maybe 1/4 full at noon today.

As you can guess no lines for the flow rider or slides. Felt sorry for the lifeguard guarding one person in the pool.

We are going to see Grease at 2:30 so we will see how full the theater is.

It is definitely a strange experience a lot of the passengers are commenting on how few people are on board.

sorry, mess up on replying..haha.

Hey Karter

We were on the same cruise. Did you get the 50% off the cruise price back as onboard credit? Did you book another cruise and get the 50% off? We quickly booked another cruise and when we got home, we saw that the Future Cruise Certificate was for a certain amount off--not 50% off the next cruise. Disappointed.

Anyone else book a cruise onboard and expected a 50% off?

Thank you.

The 50% off your future cruise is always based on the the amount you paid on the cruise that triggered the FCC not the cruise that you are going to book. It is a common misconception though. Does the certificate say that you have to use it on a newly booked cruise or can it be used on an existing booking. We just got off the shortened OA cruise and have not received the certificate yet

Hi Molly, thanks for the quick reply. Here are the rules:

  • Redeemable towards cruise fare only. Guest is responsible for taxes and fees where applicable. Not valid on Complimentary, Incentive bookings, or Charter sailings
  • One certificate per person, per booking, and valid only for the person noted on this certificate.
  • If credit is applied to a booking of lesser value, the difference will be issued as a new Future Cruise Certificate.

Hope this helps. Doesn't say anything about "new bookings"

  • Cruise must be taken by 09/30/2018.
  • Valid only for the cruise brand shown above.
  • As are all requests for reservations, the offered space is subject to availability, and from time to time, itineraries may be altered or services on a specific ship may be discontinued. Certain restrictions apply
  • Non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash.

Thanks- did you get it while on board? We just got off the OA this morning and did not get it while on board. I thought it would get mailed or emailed at some point in time

Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer are teaming up to star in Like Father, a Netflix comedy feature

My wife and I got to be extras in this film. We were on the Perfect Storm platform next to Kelsey and Kristen. Got to chat with Kelsey for a bit. Very fun.

A bunch of trees down and some traffic lights not working. They didn't even have any officers or signage to help avoid the areas. I'm assuming they were too busy with keeping peace in gas lines and helping with the really bad damage. It was absolutely the worst most stressful disembarkation I've ever done. On top of it people were stranded with no flights or hotels. I did finally get a text today at 2 pm saying if we were stranded they would try and help. Too little too late. Should have stayed in port one more day. They knew there were very limited flights and no hotel rooms, feel bad for those left. They offered rooms for $199pp tax and all, I personally would have taken that if I needed to fly home.

I so agree with you Lauren it was the worst experience ever at the port. I was one of those folks that had no idea what the heck I was going to do, didn't know anyone in Ft Laud, could not find a hotel room, flights cx or unable to get one for 2 days, and the thought of driving for 6 to 8 hours in the dark if I could even get a rental car on my own, was very scary!

I tried calling the "assistance" # from the letter we had in our cabin the night before, but it was "unavailable" tried calling from ship too.... nothing! never did get an answer after >20 tries!

I discussed w/guest services on ship, my plight, also w/guest services at the port.... no one could help me. Just a "sorry, ma'am, nothing we can do"

Being completely alone too.....never have I been so upset and scared, with no idea where to go, or what to do.

Felt like many of us were just "dumped". No one seemed to care. Just shocked at lack of caring that day.

Finally found a rental car at airport, drove 7hrs straight in the dark, a lot of power out for many hours of the trip, empty roads, boy was it creepy, finally home, then spent next 3 days clearing up damage from hurricane, but I was safe and home standing... a nightmare experience that I will never forget!

Of course I know a natural disaster cannot be helped, the capt did good and kept us safe, but wow! soon as we reached Ft Laud.......Customer care and service!!!!!! RCCL.... speechless!

Did you get the union pay for being an "extra?"

Was going to ask the same. Did you sign a release? There should have been compensation of some sort. I'll check to see if the show is SAG if so you should have received decent money. Also if the actor interacted with you in the scene in anyway you would have been a principle extra and ever more cheddar.

I haven't worked a Netflix show so I don't know what their talent contracts are like for residuals and buy outs.

But if it's non union all they have to do is get you to sign something and compensate you with as little as $1.

Yes we got the 50% back in OBC which I took in cash on the last night since I wanted to keep the 2% extra for using the RCCL credit card.

I did book a cruise on board but haven't received the FCC yet. I was told by my travel agent once I get the voucher number they will give a refund for the FCC amount. Not sure how to handle that part yet. Take the refund or purchase OBC for the FCC amount reason being if I take the refund I will lose some or all of the TA perks because the effective price of the cruise will be lower. There is a RCCL limit to the percentage of the cruise value the TA can rebate back to the customer.

Current perks are free gratuities $230 + $75 TA OBC.

So if I purchase $2,000 of OBC (assuming it is refundable) with the FCC I would net out $305.00 + $40.00 (2% of %2,000) for a total of $345.00.

So I need to find out if OBC purchased with FCC is refundable or not. After thinking about it the OBC probably is non refundable.

I was on the shortened 4 night Allure sailing that came into PE the day after Harmony. I must say they had figured everything out, because it was a breeze. Still a lot of traffic lights out getting there, but once we parked at the Park n Go, we had no issues. Our waiter told us 2300 passengers onboard. We were on deck 7, and maybe saw 20 people total in our hallway the entire cruise. Shows were empty (no reservations were available or needed), casino only had half the tables open and you could get a chair anywhere you wanted by the pools. It was relaxing, but it was just too empty.

I don't think that you can use the FCC for on board credit or I have never heard of them being used that way

Thanks very much...... yes indeed I was very lucky my home was ok... sure was a scarey time, and tbh, the entire cruise was rather disappointing in many ways, so this port experience sealed it... very sad, but of course could have been so much worse.
