caribbeanboy Posted October 14, 2017 #26 Share Posted October 14, 2017 But more than likely anyone here, in this thread/forum is gonna be shopping for a cheap cruise on Royal Caribbean. These people have coined a term for themselves, Loyal to Royal..... Guess someone needs a drink or 2 tonight. Expand my signature, and like me there are a lot more who doesn't cruise exclusively on Royal Caribbean!
colocop004 Posted October 14, 2017 #27 Share Posted October 14, 2017 Yes, Royal could offer a sale on your sailing to fill unsold cabins. Could those prices be less than what you paid? Sure. Could Royal first offer upgrades/upsells to people already booked? Sure, again. However, the likelihood of many of the cabins being in highly sought after locations, will probably be small. When we book a cruise we book it at a time, when we believe the price is reasonable for the cruise being taken. Hopefully we get it on an advertised sale, and maybe even with some additional perks thrown is....but regardless it is a price we believe is fair OR we would not book it.....and we are PICKING the cabin we want....not what is 'left over'. I learned a long time ago, NEVER to ask someone what they paid for their cabin or even their airplane seat....often SOMEONE had to pay less than me. It is irrelevant to what I considered the value I invested. On many occasions, we have booked a cruise a year or more prior to sail date only to see the price of the cruise rise and rise.....I figure if the price goes down on a cruise to a number lower than I paid, I made it up on those other cruises. I wish there was a like button!!!! We have the exact same philosophy!! Sent from my iPad using Forums

js Posted October 15, 2017 #29 Share Posted October 15, 2017 The U.K. Royal site shows many more cabins than the U.S. site. And there are some travel agency sites that show more available cabins. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Thank you for this information. I have three balcony cabins booked on Allure for August and have my kids and their friends in two insides all on deck 6 but the kids are farther away than I would like. I have been watching and stalking every day for cabins to open closer to our cabins. Can I go on the UK site in the US? I would love to stalk that site lol and then call my TA if I see cabin(s) open. Thanks ! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

maureencruiser Posted October 15, 2017 #32 Share Posted October 15, 2017 I just paid $379 plus taxes for Norwegian Breakaway Oct 22 sailing this morning. No single supplement! WOW!! aaaannnnd this has what exactly to do with Royal Caribbean? It has to do with me immediately going to NCL to check out their deals. When did haters start hating on people for mentioning other cruise lines.

Biker19 Posted October 15, 2017 #37 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Can i book on their site? Yes, BUT realize that it comes with UK booking rules - read and understand them well. Also, you'll have to invent a UK address to complete the booking.

gqboy1 Posted October 16, 2017 #40 Share Posted October 16, 2017 Thanks for the education on capacity. I was asking because I'm interested in bringing my parents on the same cruise I already have booked. This will be their first time (my mom is not too keen but my dad is interested in the casino). They wouldn't mind trying it if it's not too "costly". The capacity inquiry is making me wonder if we should wait until closer to sailing (within 90/60/30 days) in hopes of landing a good price or purchase now. I understand no one has a magic 8 ball so this guess work may be purely based on luck or "rolling the dice".

gigi65 Posted October 16, 2017 #45 Share Posted October 16, 2017 There are quite a few JS available on our cruise in Dec. (16 is what the site shows ) the prices are still a little too high compared to our balcony. We would be willing to make a switch if the price drops some more. Does it do any good to call and see if they will make a deal ?

Biker19 Posted October 16, 2017 #48 Share Posted October 16, 2017 Does it do any good to call and see if they will make a deal ? The upsell calls come from them and I don't remember any reports of it working when the call started with the customer. The regular CSRs read form a script and usually only have available the same thing you are seeing.
