Ships that don't offer Sea, Sky or Star Class

The benefits vary by ship. It would be helpful to know which one you were considering?

That being said, I generally think it's worth being in a GS (or above) if it gets you a private dining area for breakfast. I'd rather not deal with the WJ first thing in the morning.

Are there different classes when booking suites on ships that don't offer sea, sky & star class? Are there additional benefits/amenities for passengers booked in a grand, owners or royal suite vs a junior suite?

No different classes of suites if the ship is not Oasis or Quantum class. Suite perks are the same for Grand Suite and better.

You could buy a lot of room service breakfast for the price diff between a balcony (which is about as private as you can get) and a suite.

I've often wondered this myself fully knowing what the enhanced program for suite guests entails.

For me, Sky and Star is a no brainer on Oaisis and Quantum class ships with the suite lounge, costal kitchen, free internet, room types, and various other perks.

I haven't sailed in a GS or above on any other class though so not sure if the smaller list of perks justifies the additional expense over a JS as the most important perk for us is getting the double points and I just don't see how lack of a suite lounge and costal kitchen make up the extra $1000ish to go to a GS

All my grand suites have been in older ships than oasis, but love th perks I get for last 5 cruises, large suite, breakfast in specialty, concierge or suite lounge, priority seating for shows, reserved pool seating on larger ships, just do not have private restaurant for all meals, Looking forward to my first oasis GS next year along with celebrity suite which also has private dinning next year

I agree,we get a cooked room service breakfast every morning and sit on the balcony while eating it.

You will love the Suite Lounge and Coastal Kitchen.

I wonder how Rccl oasis perks will match celebrity suite perks and there suite restaurant , really looking forward to both, oasis is twice the size of summit

Coastal Kitchen is a very nice venue, quiet, great view, excellent service. I think the menu is not as extensive as other specialty restaurants, it's mostly the environment that makes it special for us.

For me it's less about the money and more about convenience. Don't get me wrong, I don't have an orchard of money trees. I am on vacation though and I want to be able to relax. Room service is wonderful, but you do still need to schedule it. I prefer to just walk out the door, when I am ready, and get some breakfast. I'd actually be fine with the WJ if seating was more readily available.

Bottom line is having options is a good thing.

Have only done Suite Class on Oasis class ship. My wife prefers Star Class with the added amenities and the service of the Genie. In particular, embarkation and disembarkation is wonderful; we can get from our suite to curb side in about 15 minutes. Having front row seats and not worrying about reservations to the show or getting there ahead of time, is a time saver. The “true” all inclusive-ness of the cruise is worry free.

Bottom line, the service in Sky and Star Class Suites is outstanding. Yes, these classes cost more, but they make your vacation more enjoyable and thus a good value for your money if you can afford them.

Jr Suites don't receive any benefits of the suites on ships that don't have Star Class, etc except sometimes you earn double points on your Crown & Anchor account. Ask your TA or RCCL Rep if the junior suite is eligible for the extra points -- I have had it both ways.

The main benefit on those ships is access to the concierge lounge. You also have sectioned off areas for loungers, access to a suite only section on their private islands, reserved seating for shows, private area for lunch off the Windjammer and the like.

From what I have experienced, there is no difference in perks offered for Grand Suites & Owners Suites on Freedom, Voyager, Vision and Radiance Class ships. We stayed in the Royal Suite on the Freedom for my husband's 50th birthday -- that suite had some extra special service. It was not like what we experienced in Star Class on the Allure, but very nice nonetheless.

JS staterooms always get an extra point per night. Two extra points per night if solo in the JS.

We used to enjoy the JR Suites with bathtub and walk-in closet on Oasis class. Then we were “shown” the benefits of Sky and Star Class with Coastal Kitchen all day access and the SL, we have not looked back since. [emoji1]Definitely first world problem.

That's what I thought too. It is possible I received misinformation from RCCL, it wouldn't be the first time.

My 21 yr old DD & I are cruising on the Indy in February for 5 nights. The reason we are going is slightly convoluted. She needs 6 more points to reach Diamond status. In August several of us are on the Oasis for my 50th birthday. My DH & I are in a Star Class suite, she is in a regular balcony with her cousin. DD wants to be Diamond status for the cruise so she will have access to the Diamond lounge and be able to enjoy the perks that go along with it.

We didn't have enough vacation days to take a 7 day cruise, so we needed a room with double points or she had to be in a room by herself. I was planning on a Jr. suite, because I received double points when I sailed with one of my friends in one on the Brilliance last April. Since the number of points we receive for the cruise is extremely important in this instance, I asked the TA to verify with RCCL that we would get 10 points for the cruise. She talked to 2 different people at RCCL and they told her we had to book Grand Suite or above to get the double points. It didn't sound right to me, so I called RCCL, but I got the same answer.

It's possible we would receive double points in the Jr Suite and the Reps were wrong, but I didn't want to risk it. We are booked in a GS, I'll enjoy the extra space 'cause she brings a lot of stuff!! [emoji6]

Only perk missing on the smaller ships is no reserved pool seating which we missed when on Brilliance, looking forward to it next month on Navigator

Trust me, we've done plenty of JS, even some solo (like this week), you always get two points per day, and 3 if solo.

I agree,we have always got double points when we paid for a JS.

Once we got an upgrade to a JS but we did not get double points in that instance.

So on Adventure of the Seas if we are in a junior suite, there are no benefits other than points? We are Diamond , but will there be other perks? Oh and we upgraded on a casino offer in case that matters. I know we won't get any points, just wondering if anything else.

Just the cabin itself. Well, you do get a silver Seapass card and can use the suite line at the terminal for check in.

Thanks for the info. I wish RCCL customer service agents would be accurate and reliable— one can only hope!

Fyi — last April when I sailed in a Jr Suite on the Brilliance it was a free upgrade, they still gave me double points. I don’t know if I was supposed to get them or not.
