Right here! Good hotel, great prices, close to terminal.........http://www.comfortinnmidtownny.com

I would not think even a Comfort Inn would be available near the port for $150 a night; maybe certain dates. I see the guy booked near the airport: that makes more sense. That is what we did when we went out of NYC last spring.

I doubt prices are better now, but several years ago the Hampton by Times Square was $500 a night for a room with two queen beds. Other comparable hotels in the area had similar rates. We ended up using Hilton points to stay there free. The next time we cruised out of Manhattan, we staying at the LaGuardia Hampton for about $200 for the night.

I booked a hotel in Hell’s Kitchen - Pod Times Square - for March for 3 nights. It came to 450 or so total for three nights. We booked the bunk bed room but they also have a queen room for a little more. It’s a pretty new hotel - just opened in October

A friend of mine is coming from France next week and needs an inexpensive hotel where he can spend one night before his cruise on Breakaway. He is hoping to spend no more than $150 which I️ realize may be impossible in Manhattan. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

Garden Hilton Inn in Ridgefield NJ , cheap hotel , able to park car , free shuttle and free breakfast

the cruise the hotels are no doubt savvy about that and the rates will be higher for that night.

Supply and Demand - legal ??? - but weekend rates coinciding with cruise sailing are higher ?

!

Huh? Yes' date=' everything in the US is priced based on supply and demand. Of course it’s legal, it’s a foundation of capitalism. Try booking a hotel in Vegas when there’s a MMA fight scheduled or during super bowl weekend in the city it’s being held in.

Why not check AirBnb? I did a quick check and whole home/apartment rentals near the port seem a lot cheaper than what hotels quoted here seem to cost. My wife and I have used airbnb in Venice, Rome, London, and Paris and the experience was outstanding and we saved tons of money for a space much better than a hotel room.

It’s still illegal in NYC.
