Passport Renewal

Hubs got his back right away. We had our pics done at Walgreens before I read applic. I got a letter saying to redo-no glasses (& no smile allowed in pic).

This was changed in Nov '2016. Walgreens guy or no one else knew about this. He didnt charge me for 2nd pic without my glasses & with no smile.

You can smile, just not an exaggerated one. Just got mine done a few months ago.

Just got married and had to name change mine. They received it on December 2. I received my new one back December 13. I did not pay to expedite it.

I sent mine for renewal in October for our NYE cruise. Got it back ready to go 10 days later. No expedited shipping, they were just really fast. I was so surprised after many places said it would be six weeks. Send it as soon as you can though.

My husband applied for a first time passport last Saturday and had it back yesterday! Couldn’t believe just a one week turn around time! I suggest sending the renewal in before the rush for Spring break passports begins!

I sent mine in for renewal on Dec 1st, and had the new one back on Dec 14th. You should be fine.

FYI this is year 10 , so many are due for renewal. Just don’t know when the the avalanche will start.

We just had to send off a few new apps for kids that didnt have them yet, so this info is fresh in my mind. They state the renewal time to be between 2 and 3 weeks. I also read on the govt page that the busy time is January thru beginning of summer, which explains the quick holiday time turnovers. For a new app I think 4-6weeks was quoted, but I expect them quicker than that based on what Im reading about peoples experiences. Also, although glasses have been disallowed , they do allow a "natural" smile.

Applied for 3 renewals and one new Last Saturday and got my sons renewal back today (going from a child to adult). So 9 days for that... waiting for the other 3... but expect them soon :)

I renewed mine in Late September, from the date mailed to receiving the new one was 12 days. It took another week to get the old one back, but who cares about that?

I had my photo done at my local AAA. The woman taking the photo said "Take off your glasses and make your face look like you have been standing in line for immigration control for an hour!

New Passport application mailed out last Saturday and came in Monday.... fast! We did regular processing too!

We are sailing Feb 3. We just got our passport renewal request in the mail yesterday. Please tell me we will have enough time to get them back. We have never used birth certificates before, I'm guessing it's no big deal, right?

 

OK, so here is the skinny!!! I sent my passport renewal off last Monday, so the 11th of December. I had it sent back one day express.. I got it today. the 22nd of December!!!!!!!! You got plenty of time!!!!!!!!!

I sent off 4 passport apps, not renewals on 12/13 for my younger kids who have never had one. The first one was shipped back to me today 12/22. Pretty quick !

We sent our renewals out on 12/5 regular processing and received them back on 12/20! 15 day turnaround was awesome! We are now set for 10 more years of cruising:)
