I checked out the library and it is small. I needed to do some last minute homework. Then booked the Enclave. It was 199 for the ten day cruise. I will take pictures later for you. I also booked to get my hair done on both formal nights for 49. So far the staff has been great.

Just about to do the drill and yeah no more need to bring the vest. Only bad part is my station is in the Casino and it smells bad to me in here 790319e7f468bf51911ac78155240230.jpg

Following! We board Feb 28. Very cold in Canada and already counting the days....

I do believe I cruised with you a few yrs ago on the Emerald. We went to the cooking class in Dominica. I was traveling with my cousin from Vt and I’m from Mass. I believe you were with your sister.

Not a ship I have been on. Cooking classes that’s something I would do.

I was just figuring that out! That was such a great cruise! I see we are missing each other this time. It would have been fun to meet again. That cooking class was one of our best excursions ever! (Although I never tried the recipes!!)

I see you have Matt O'Brien as your CD. We sailed 17 days with him on Coral when he was an assistant CD and I told him at that time he really had to become a CD as he obviously loved his job and was crazy good at it. I found out last year that he had been made a CD and was very happy for him. I think you will love him and I hope to sail with him again one day. The guy is nuts!

We will be sailing on her this March! I read somewhere that they charge for room service, that's not correct unless they changed it since our last cruise a year ago (or maybe they meant the late night charge for pizza). Could you verify that the room service is still free, except for late night (midnight to 5am I think) pizza? Thanks and have a GREAT time!!

We'll be on the Royal next month. I've not yet had Matt as the CD and he sounds like a great director. Here's hoping.

And thanks to OP for posting.... mostly answered my question about the CD since I suspect he and the ED are the permanent folks so we'll be seeing both in Feb. :-)

I heard Princess Cays just got cancelled, not the best weather. However, any day is a good day for you all on the Royal.

Yes, the stop at Princess Cay was canceled. It is very yucky outside. The captain came on over the speaker in the roomat 830 this morning to let us know. I was still sleeping which is not normalfor me. However, we received a revisedschedule for the day and life goes on. Ican actually understand what this captain is saying as well and that is nice.

So let me just give you a brief overview of our day yesterday.Well our day really started at 7pm Monday evening when we left home to head toour 12:55 am Flight out of LAX. We had no problems in the airports and flightswhile bumpy were good and on time. We took an Uber from FLL to the port. Costwas $12.50. I think I paid a little less the last time, but I know there rateschange based on need. I could ask by dad to explain he has been driving Uberfor a little while. We got to the port by 1145 and we were in our room by 1200.The room was ready and clean. We are in a mid-ship interior. This room is a little bigger than most whichis nice. I met the room ninja (our room StewartDex) right away and he asked if we needed anything extra and if we would like iceeach night.

Emily and I then headed to the Concerto dinning room forlunch. As we boarded they said they only had lunch in the Horizon Court. As aplatinum cruiser I know better. Lunchwas good. After lunch Emily wanted to go check out the teen center and go swimming. She said that she liked the Teen center but out of 3500 guests on board thereare only 13 teens (13-17). She also was not able to go swimming as the pool wasclosed.

As for me after lunch I headed to the spa. I got the normaltour. They got me hook line and sinker. I bought access to the Enclave all weekfor $199. I promise to get pictures of it at some point. I also booked two hair appointments. I am in need of a haircut. I went to theinternational café to get my coffee card. See I am not big on all the fancy coffee, but I do love teas and regular black coffee. Now I get unlimited of those plusEmily gets 15 fancy coffees for $35. I use it and feel it is a great deal. I canget the better coffee in the show rooms as well with this card.

Then I took a short nap before the drill. My muster stationwas in the casino. Which would be ok except it smells like lots of smoke inthere. I dealt with it. However, if my son was with me we could not have beenin there because he has asthma and smoke does not set well with him. They have redone the drill process and triedto make it a little funny and you no longer have to bring your vest.

After the drill we went and unpacked and put everythingaway. Once that was done Emily said Ihad to sign her in at the teens club. What I had to do was agree to the rules. It is kind of a nice area. We then wentto the show at 715. It was just ok. The singers and dances did a number andthen there was a comedian.

We have our dinner in the Allegro dining room at 8pm. Ourtable was a table for 6 next to the beautiful chefs table. The table and all the crystal is verybeautiful. The head waiter told us that a guest had chipped one of the glass blownpetals that make up the center piece of that table. The guest had to pay 3000 to replace it.(picture to come).

Our table mates are all in there 70s 80s and 90s. Theconversation was ok but for the first time I felt a little out of place atdinner. Emily seemed ok. I had the fettucinepasta for my app and then the roast pork for dinner. No dessert for me. Then it was to bed for both of us because wehad been up for way to long.
