I was meeting some friends on the ship who I'd cruised with before. One is Platinum and they were already at the casino bar when I got there..they said they were on before 11:AM

Sammee and Shirleybird come over to the roll call and the meet & mingle. We always get many Jerseyans on the Pride, us also. One of the best things on the Pride that most ships don't have is Chopsticks. I have it most days for lunch, even if I mix it with other things from the buffet. May also be the cheapest parking of any port and certainly convenient.

Parking in NY is $280 for 7 days and Baltimore is $105. NY is closer for me but I'd rather keep the $175.00 difference in my pocket...lol Tolls to Baltimore are cheaper too!

Follow on question (two, actually)- do they use scanners to check you in at the door or do you check in at the counter? And, are your S&S cards at the cabin or do they still give them out in the terminal?

It's funny but I think it was the fastest check in ever. I was scanned going in and when I got to the counter I wasn't there two minutes to have the photo taken and be given my card.

Some more things I thought of that people ask...Now that I'm home and back to reality:

The room safe is a "swipe"...not a number keypad and I have to say, it's the only thing I didn't like. I've always used the number pad.

On the good note, you didn't have to put the magnetic card in the light switch on the wall

The refrigerator was ICE cold, a rare find.

Even though it was February, the balcony was worth it. I used it every day, except for the night coming home

Dining staff performed every night in the dining room. I was surprised as I'd never seen it every night. Some like it, some hate it. Doesn't bother me at all either way. There were many Happy Birthday's too...lol:)

Thanks. The ship must have been empty for quite awhile for them. Isn't 12:30 the earliest check in time?

The Pride is a great ship. It was our first Carnival ship after sailing on larger Royal Caribbean and Celebrity ships. We were so worried it would be too small, but we loved it! We sailed on the Magic last summer and liked it, but are happy to be back on the Pride this summer. It's just a great sized ship with a lot to offer. It honestly had almost everything the Magic had, but wasn't as crowded.

I have no idea how they figure out the check in times, I had 1:30. No one looked or asked or anything when I showed my boarding pass.

Check in times are printed on the boarding pass so they don't have to ask;). That said if there is no or little line they likely don't care (and of course if too many people figure that out and show up too early then there would be a line and they'd have to start going by assigned times).

Shhh. Let's keep that our secret. We had a 2:30 boarding time, showed up at 12:30, no line and on we went;p

I actually expected to wait when I got there but just followed people in. I'm sure it's easier check in with a smaller ship and less people. 2000 passengers vs. 5000 is a big deal! I'll stick with smaller.:)

Did you have to wait long to park. Charleston SC was a nightmare.

No, not at all. There were 2 cars in front of me. I don't know if it was because I bypassed luggage check in. I just looped around and went right to the parking booth. Very easy.

Is there a charge for Chopsticks?

I agree!! We cruised from Charleston last month and after cruising from Baltimore several times, it was a nightmare. I don’t ever want to go out of Charleston again. Baltimore knows how to do it!
