Besides MUTS, any movies shown in the Princess Theater or other venue?

Bags of popcorn and pretzels still available for MUTS?

Thanks,

I know that three billboards was shown in the princess theater but I am not sure what other movies. I will look in the Patters tomorrow for you. If I forget please remind me.

I'm not sure about the popcorn and pretzels during MUTS. I went to the Horizon Court and brought back some cookies for us.

How 'formal' is formal night? I guess I'm most nervous about dress code. I've never cruised Princess before, and am used to capris and casual top during day & dinner in dining room. I'll be with the Joe Kenda/Homicide Hunter group, so maybe we won't be doing the formal night.

Just off yesterday.

Formal night was very casual. In a full dining room I saw- no formal gowns, a few sparkly tops with pants, mainly dresses one would wear to church or slacks and nice T shirts or blouses. Men mostly long sleeve shirts, very few ties, an occasional coat and in a full Princess Theater only 2 tux.

I saw no jeans and no capri pants.

Just off yesterday.

Despite PJ the cruise director saying a couple of times this was the "Party Cruise to Cabo" we did not find any problems with the smoking or the drinking reported previously BUT we did not go up to Skywalkers.

I can say we were very, very disappointed in this cruise as were other Elite passengers. The food in the dining room - the quality and preparation of the beef and chicken especially- was the worst we have seen. The Anytime dining started at 4:30 and by 7:00 there were long lines especially the first night. Dining staff hardly ever had a smile and many had a real "attitude". It was obvious that on the Ruby Princess they were driving many long time cruisers away from Princess and just looking for the "younger" party people where they figure their best chance of selling more liquor is the greatest. It was not like this on the Island Princess in December and Princess should seriously take a look at where this ship is falling down. Back to back passengers said it was the same the previous cruise.:(

We are leaving Saturday on the Ruby for a California Coastal cruise so to hear how the quality of the food has decreased in the dining room (again) is depressing. We felt the same on the Emerald last November but were hopeful the experience would be better on the Ruby (We've sailed the Ruby before and her food was the best). What is it gonna take before Princess gets a clue about all these issues...

Questionable. Subjective. Pure speculation.

BTW, why would attitude of staff be any different than your previous cruise on Island Princess? FUD.

Im sure as an Elite PAX, your opinion matters to Princess.

So, did you submit comment cards to complain and what deficiencies you experienced on Ruby?

Good luck, and enjoy your next cruise.

BTW, considering your dissatisfaction with your cruise on Ruby, will you continue to cruise with Princess?

Thank you for the information. I mis-wrote ;);)

I wouldn't wear jeans or capris on formal night. I hope to plan slacks and a nice top for formal night.

But any other time dining I would hopefully be able to wear capris with a button down shirt in the MDR.

I really do not know how to take your comments but I will answer them.

I doubt our opinions matter to Princess and Elite passengers are now the norm. Mentioning Elite was only to say that we have been very loyal to Princess for many years.

Yes, Princess is well aware of where they can improve.

We will enjoy our next cruise as we do them all. Just mentioning that we are saddened by what we are seeing is in no way is saying we did not enjoy our cruise!

We will sail on the Emerald for 12 days in April and also on the Coral for 60 days in September. There are 2 more booked for 2019 and at this time we have not canceled those either.:)

Yes it probably is but the comment was made based on comments made by fellow cruises.

Why would the attitude be any different? Very good question as we asked ourselves the same thing. The only answers we could come up with are also speculation- this was a short cruise, they were tired or unhappy generally with their working environment,.

Have a great cruise! There are so many choices on the menu and maybe, hopefully, it was just the choices we made and possibly the others we spoke with made the same ones. The Crown Grill was very, very good as was the Pub Lunch. The Horizon Court also has some very good selections.

Thanks for sharing your experience (and your calm, reasoned answers to other’s questions/comments). We found quite a bit of variance in crew attitude last year on the Ruby, but are giving her (aka Princess) another shot. Our experience, like yours, had a fair amount of good mixed in with the not so good. We are hoping our expectations will be exceeded this time.

The MDR food... When we boarded the ship we went to the MDR for lunch. My friend had salmon and I had the beef tenderloin. Everything was perfect and we knew right then and there that the food was going to be great.

That night we both ordered prime rib in the MDR. We both ordered medium rare. We were sitting at a table for two so you know that on both sides there was somebody practically in our laps. I only add this so you will understand what happened next. Our prime rib arrived and it was solid red, not one speck of brown, not even on the edges. We are huge steak/prime rib fans and we know what medium rare is. We told our server and he proceeded to argue with us telling us that it was medium rare and asked us if we wanted it well done. We said no thank you and that we would please like medium rare. He was upset and walked away and that is when our neighbors stated that our food was not even cooked. We were brought new plates of prime rib and it was extremely well done and a grayish color. It looked like it had been tossed in a microwave or steamer. We left it on our plates. The rest of our cruise we had some nice meals with a few misses. The Crown Grill was perfect!

One thing that was horrible was beverage service! We had issues in the dining room and especially in the casino. Beverage service in the casino was almost nonexistent. On every other cruise servers ( especially in the casino) were constantly asking if we needed something but on this cruise there was no one to be found most of the time. And the straw issues drove me nuts! I would finally get a soda after waiting for a hour or longer but they would not offer me a straw. I would ask for a straw and it would take five or 10 minutes to get one. And yes, I do need a straw. I told my friend that I would probably have to start carrying my own straws in my purse.

Would I take this cruise again? You bet I would. I just want to be on a ship. But it is sad to see a change in service from your favorite cruiseline.

I doubt our opinions matter to Princess

If nobody tells Princess what is not good about a cruise, Princess will assume all is fine.

If something significant is not good or done correctly, then you should tell Princess.

Keep the ship in good condition, we board on Saturday. If you went to San Francisco and Monterrey what was the weather like? Thanks

We also board Saturday...San Francisco might be a little bit rainy on Monday am, temps in the low 60's, Monterrey looks like it will be clear but that might change due to the same storm coming into San Francisco, San Diego looks clear at this time, temps in the mid 60's. The weather channel has 10 day forecasts for all these cities that are fairly accurate.

Hi, I had posted some concerns above, we were on the Ruby Mexican Riviera Feb. 3 and Feb. 10 and then Feb. 17, our first two cruises were excellent but the Feb. 17 cruise on the Ruby from San Pedro to Cabo San Lucas was not a good experience. I posted our concerns in this thread above.Yesterday we heard from Management fro Princess as my wife wrote the letter to them with our concerns. Our main concerns were the smoking and butting cigarettes into the carpet and the marijuana that some passengers were smoking, when we addressed these issues to staff on the ship, they didn’t do anything about it, we are asking what happened on this ship, did Princess change their rules. Management said the only complaint they heard about the Feb. 17 on the Ruby was the announcement early in the morning, where a passenger was missing and then found passed out intoxicated. I said to her, you mean no one else has complained about any concerns and she said we were the only ones, I didn’t just fall off the chip truck yesterday, I would say they have lots of complaints. She offered us a bottle of wine for our concerns, and we said we don’t want anything from Princess, all we want is answers on how Princess let this stuff happen and why nothing was done. I would have to think that a lot of you on Cruise Critic who were on that sailing voiced their concerns to Princess, and if you do have concerns about this sailing then please just take a few minutes of your time and let Princess know your thoughts. Would we sail again on Princess, absolutely, do we know how to party, yes we know how, when and where. We talked to a couple who were down the hall from us, they have been on Princess over 60 times and were frustrated with this one.

Let Princess know your concerns

Thanks again

I'm sorry but I did not see any of the stuff that you're talking about. About a year ago I was on either a three or four day cruise and I witnessed a man putting his cigarette out in the carpet over and over again in the casino. I reported it several times and nothing was done. Scared the you know what out of me!
