In general they don´t accept prebooking at Oceankaj because in their experience people just takes the first available taxi instead of the one they booked. but they say that there should be plenty of taxis all the time. frederik123456 Posted March 26, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Is it easy to get a taxi at the airport to take you into the city? And then easy to get a taxi from city to Oceankaj? Thanks for answering questions!! There are always plenty of taxis at the airport. From the city centre, it depends on where you are and what time. But it shouldn't be too difficult. In any case you can order one by phone using the the links provided in Danish Viking's post.

Danish viking Posted March 26, 2018 Author #10 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Netto Bådene and Stromma´s canal tours has gotten a upscale competitor. Hey Captain runs small 12 person boats (the others seats around 100) and they offer 1 free drink on the tour and else you can buy some more. http://www.heycaptain.dk/ https://www.stromma.dk/en/copenhagen/ https://www.havnerundfart.dk/canaltours/index.php?page=forside.php

EllieinNJ Posted March 27, 2018 #12 Share Posted March 27, 2018 I'm so confused about the different HOHO buses. There seems to be about four different ones or is each run by the same company? Stromma, City Sightseeing, Red Bus, Green bus? Is there a preferred line?
Danish viking Posted March 27, 2018 Author #13 Share Posted March 27, 2018 Stromma is the parent company and they have these brands The green busses just called Hop on Hop Off Then there is the red City Sightseeing, Its a franchise of the international known City Sightseeing. Copenhagen Excursions is also red but its more exclusive busses, I imagine that these are the busses they use for out of town trips. Then we have Red Busses, that are (yes you guessed it) red. They are part of Touristy Group. Then I can´t find other companies.
ladysail2 Posted March 28, 2018 #14 Share Posted March 28, 2018 Hello. Thank you for the docking information. In June, I'm staying at a hotel near the airport....and want to use as much public transportation as possible. To get to the port..in my case, Quay C331, can I take the train/Metro to Nyhavn, then take a taxi to the port? Do you think that's the most efficient way to get to the ship? Is that the closest metro stop to the port? I would take a bus if I didn't have to walk too far from the bus stop to the ship. From my recollection, it is a long walk. Thank you for any help. :)
Danish viking Posted March 28, 2018 Author #15 Share Posted March 28, 2018 That and Nørreport is the closest metro station. The S-train will drop you off closer to the terminal but Østerport is under reconstruction so it can be hard to find the taxi stand and I don't know how easy it is to get a taxi from Nordhavn. Only if you dock at Terminal 3 its a long walk from the bus stop. The bus stop is right outside terminal 1 and a very short walk to terminal 2. C331 is terminal 1 so the bus will drop you off at the terminal.

Rare Turtles06 Posted March 28, 2018 #18 Share Posted March 28, 2018 Danish Viking -- thank you for all the great information you put up here. A quick question regarding the canal tours -- we'll be in Copenhagen for several days in late August. Obviously, we'd love to be able to pick a good-weather day for a boat tour, but I'm wondering if these tours fill up in advance at that time of year and whether it's best to just pick a date, buy the tickets in advance, and hope for the best in terms of the weather. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
Danish viking Posted March 29, 2018 Author #19 Share Posted March 29, 2018 Normally you can just walk up and take a boat. In worst case you just take the next departure.
Shelldor Posted March 29, 2018 #20 Share Posted March 29, 2018 Thank you Danish Viking for posting all this valuable information. Question about taxis - Is it possible to get a single taxi at the airport for 4 people with 4 large suitcases and 4 carryon bags? Or should we plan on two separate taxis? TIA

bwindi Posted March 29, 2018 #23 Share Posted March 29, 2018 My cruise day in Copenhagen is 5th June which I understand is Constitution Day. Danish Viking - what will this mean for cruise passengers. I was intending using the bus from the port to Norreport station and doing the usual sightseeing in the morning but was hoping to indulge in shopping in the afternoon. I am hearing that shops will be shut but then have also read that they only close in the afternoon. Also that there are political rallies etc. Do these take place in the city and will this have an impact on traffic and transport. I am wondering whether it would be best to take a Princess tour. Grateful for your help .
Danish viking Posted March 29, 2018 Author #24 Share Posted March 29, 2018 Most shops are closed so it will mostly be restaurants and tourist sites that are open. There will be some rallies called grundlovstale (constitution speak???) but they are mostly held in parks so they won't disrupt traffic.
paradiselivin1 Posted March 29, 2018 #25 Share Posted March 29, 2018 Thanks a million, Danish Viking. I totally changed our pre-cruise plans based on this post. Happy to see so many places we can get to outside of the city as we have a full five days to explore and will now stay in Copenhagen rather than making our originally planned stop in Amsterdam.
