#love2cruise Posted May 27, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2018 I see at times, threads regarding special sailing fares given to those who use the casino. My question is, how is the activity in the Casino determined to decide who is entitled to reduced fares, ie. is it time in Casino, dollars spent in Casino, etc.? gooch47 Posted May 27, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2018 Time is a factor only in the sense the more time you are there, the more money you run through the machines or play at the table. More important is how many points you get which is based on the amount and number of bets. You don't have to lose, just risk your money.
JF - retired RRT Posted May 27, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2018 We use the casino to get rid of non-refundable OBC. Generally, very little time in the casino and almost no $$ spent. We'll use a slot machine, load the amount of our non-refundable OBC and play until consistently losing or balance is up enough to make us smile. Then we cash out. This takes maybe 20 minutes max. We got the casino rate for booking cruises one time. It was a really nice discount and we booked 5 cruises.:D

caribill Posted May 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 28, 2018 The basic answer is that we do not know how you get chosen to be offered the casino rates. Sometimes heavy gamblers post they get the offers. Other times posters have said they hardly use the casino but did get the offers.

busterfla Posted May 29, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2018 Normally I book on my own thru the website, but when the early Elite bookings opened up I couldn't get thru the website. I ended up emailing my Princess Rep that gave me the heads up on the Elite early bookings opening the next day. After we set up the Sky 3 night cruise in December 2019, my rep said that I should always book thru her, since I qualify for Casino rates. Well about 10 days later I found a cheap 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise in January 2019 for our anniversary and gave her a shot at it. Got $300 each off the website price and that's all it took. BOOKED! I just told her which cabin I wanted and we were done, she all the rest of our preferences.

I always get amazing email offers from my Princess rep but then go to the website and assumed that if I'm logged in it will show me the rate I qualify for. Maybe I'll finally give that guy a call! gooch47 Posted May 29, 2018 #10 Share Posted May 29, 2018 We actually spend very little time in Princess casinos. We do spend way too much time in land based ones, mostly the Pinnacle MyChoice chain. So we were very surprised to get a very, very good casino offer for a Mexican cruise out of LA. It made us wonder if the land based casinos share their info (doubtful). MyChoice uses Royal Caribbean for their offers, not Princess.
mustgo Posted May 29, 2018 #11 Share Posted May 29, 2018 If you have ever gotten a Princess casino offer, it pays to call and book every cruise on the phone and ask the question. Do I get a casino rate on this cruise? Unless you book quite late, it is usually there. If the price drops and you rebook, also be sure to remind them that you are on a casino rate. Some reps miss it or even forget to add it even if reminded.
luckyinpa Posted May 29, 2018 #12 Share Posted May 29, 2018 no one knows the magic formula. i took my 1st ever princess last october . put 60 bucks in the slots. come near christmas i was getting regal 7 nite for 99 and a 14 day carribean was something like 399. its in a thread here somewhere.. 10 day over christmas was 324. sadly couldnt take one. also air was 200 off so even for 600 bucks minus 200 that wasnt bad christmas fare. this year i'm resolved no matter my circumstance ill do it if i get it again. most were also NO single supplement but even if you do pay double, who cares about 2 x 199?
