Roulette help :)

The minimum is typically $5 per spin, which can be spread all over the board.

There is no good way to bet roulette. The ships use American-style wheels which have terrible returns. Generally you can make your money last a little longer by playing outside bets only and staying away from insides and baskets.

That said, it CAN be fun, especially in a group at a lively table.

I am a rookie and was wondering about how roulette works on the ship.

1) what is the minimum and maximum you can bidi- usually 5 or 10 for min and not sure about max- i'm not in that stratosphere

2) what are some tips that help you win?

there are several websites that have tutorials if you need a little coaching- Roulette has a statisticlly high House Edge but is a fun game none the less- a dollar on a winning number wins $35! Roulette players all have their own system- watch for a few minutes and you will see what they do. Great entertainment as long as you consider losses as entertainment fees. Numerically though, it's all luck.

Minimum is $5 per spin, although the displays on the roulette table will tell you it's $1.

The way to win is to predict which number will come up next - and play it!

Roulette is all luck, it's random. All bets have a house edge so you will walk away empty-handed if you play long enough, just like all other casino games.

If I bet Red or Black and keep doubling if I loose until I finally win does method work? The only way i can see it not working is if there is a cap on amount of betting you can place.

Example: I bet $25 on Red it hits black so next time I bet $50 on red and it hits black. Next hand I bet $100 on red it hits black. Next hand $200 it hits red so I have made back my loses and gained $25. I just need to know is there a limit on bets because this won’t work if it goes too high doubling

This would work IF:

1) There was no table limit (there is)

2) You have infinite money (you don't, and sooner or later you will lose 8 times in a row)

3) The odds of winning a red/black bet were 50% (they aren't, thanks to the green numbers)

The system you describe is called a Martingale system and it's doomed to fail like any other system.

The only beatable game in the casino is blackjack, and Carnival's rules make that unbeatable as well.

google "Martingale" - statistically it does not work, but i have used it and won (and lost)- you will cap out around $300to $500

I was under the impression that on Roulette cruise lines have a minimum limit on the 50/50 bets like Red/Black (though you will lose on green 0 and 00), say $5 which is much higher than on loose numbers including alleys, pairs quads etc. which might be as low as $1.

Occasionally they run a half price feature night with lower minimums.

They also have a top limit on what you may place sometimes lines have a $50 limit and other lines $1000.

Regards John

Dealer hits on soft 17, 6:5 payouts mostly. On the Fun21 table they take out all the Kings, and on the Face Up table the dealer takes all pushes.

I love roulette. My husband and I play 20 each a night and every 100 we win, we pull off the table. I rarely play corners or lines. I always play straight numbers.

This cruise in Sept, I'm playing on embarkation day to win enough for cheers.

It sounds silly and it's completely ridiculous, but I watch the ball and get a "feeling" for what number will hit and then place my bet. Last three cruises I won enough to cover excursions or our cruise fare.

Some people can "feel" it, I believe that. I've never had the feel for roulette or craps, personally. Good luck to you!

Thanks! I need lots of luck. My husband shot down my cheers justification spreadsheet. I have to win or no cheers, lol

The other option is to donate about 1500 to the Casino and they'll give you a drinks on us card. Of course then you have to keep playing to get the free drinks. I like your strategy better. LOL

The 6:5 BJ is on the $5 table, not the higher limit ones, right? Are there $10 tables? I assume they don't allow late surrender?

Fun21 sounds like Spanish Blackjack.

On my cruise on the Ecstasy last month, the $10 tables were 6:5 as well as far as I recall. There was a $25 table at least one night, but I don't recall the payouts or specific rules.

Sounds like I won't be playing blackjack this upcoming cruise.

Smart! I won't either, at least not as much as I have in the past. It stops being fun when you've run out of chips.
