PCWalton1 Posted July 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2018 Hi, We are going to be on Symphony in January and we purchased the 5 night dining package. Planned to use it for 150 Central, Chops Grille, Hooked Seafood and Jamie's. We are not interested (actually just Marie is not interested ;p) in Izumi and neither of us wants to do Wonderland again so we need a fifth location. Does 150 Central still do the split menu where they did one menu in the first half of the cruise and a different one in the second? thanks
Eslader Posted July 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2018 They did as of the last time I was on an Oasis class, yes, and the two menus were completely different and well worth going there twice for.
Ourusualbeach Posted July 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2018 We have not seen the split menu in a Central Park for the last 2 years. In that time we have sailed on Oasis, Allure and Harmony. The menu is now just like a regular menu with choices from appetizers, mains and desserts. It is no longer a fixed menu.
jlas000 Posted July 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2018 We were on Symphony in June. Menu was the same throughout the cruise. We still went twice and it was great.
Rare mac_tlc Posted July 5, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 5, 2018 On Oasis in January, there was one menu. Going back next month and I will report back. mac_tlc Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Rare steamboats Posted July 6, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 6, 2018 The last menus of the 150CP were created by Michael Schwartz. Since this cooperation ended they´ve rolled out a completely new menu. This one doesn´t change any more and has more choices. It´s a bit hard to read but check here for the menu and food photos of the Symphony. steamboats
Ourusualbeach Posted July 6, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 6, 2018 It was in November 2016 that the 2 different tasting menus that were changed midweek were replaced by a regular menu.
PCWalton1 Posted July 6, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted July 6, 2018 Thanks everyone, Since there are now choices instead of a completely fixed menu I think we will go twice. :D

Chester & Brewster Posted September 24, 2018 #13 Share Posted September 24, 2018 We were really disappointed with 150 Central Park on Symphony earlier this month (having previously been when it was the set tasting menus A & B). No salts to add to your bread/butter any more, crispy pork belly was soggy, halibut main was tasteless & bland, lamb wellington was over-cooked & fried cheesecake desert was disappointing. Things might improve over the winter routes with a change of kitchen team maybe?
Rare little britain Posted September 24, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 24, 2018 Didn’t like the desserts either. Didn’t have the lamb as worried it would be too rare for me, so DH and I split the beef. They cooked mine considerably longer than they cooked his. Chester & Brewster Posted September 24, 2018 #15 Share Posted September 24, 2018 These were our starters (top row - pork belly & short rib) and mains (bottom row - lamb wellington & halibut)

Rare steamboats Posted September 25, 2018 #17 Share Posted September 25, 2018 No, the split menu is gone when they quit the cooporation with Micheal Schwartz. The split menu was sort of a more fixed menu with only a few choices. Now it´s a menu with more choices which does not change. steamboats
LSM212 Posted September 26, 2018 #18 Share Posted September 26, 2018 This will be my first time sailing with RCI and trying to decide whether to buy a dining package for Symphony. Did anyone who bought this do so because they werent happy with the main restaurant menu or found it too repetitive or did you just fancy a change trying different venues? Ourusualbeach Posted September 26, 2018 #19 Share Posted September 26, 2018 This will be my first time sailing with RCI and trying to decide whether to buy a dining package for Symphony. Did anyone who bought this do so because they werent happy with the main restaurant menu or found it too repetitive or did you just fancy a change trying different venues? There’s a variety of reasons why people buy the dining package. Since this is your first time why not try the dining room and solarium Bistro (free) and decide fo4 yourself whether you want to add on a couple of specialty restaurants. The vast majority of diners are satisfied with the MDR and do not buy the package.
Rare steamboats Posted September 26, 2018 #20 Share Posted September 26, 2018 This will be my first time sailing with RCI and trying to decide whether to buy a dining package for Symphony. Did anyone who bought this do so because they werent happy with the main restaurant menu or found it too repetitive or did you just fancy a change trying different venues? We had the BOGO-Package for the first two nights on the Symphony. First night we tried out Hooked as this is a new restaurant for RCI. Second night it was our wedding anniversary so we went to Wonderland. We also had a (free) reservation for the Solarium Bistro which is much nicer and has a different concept on the Symphony. So we mainly booked to try out the new stuff. It wasn´t that we don´t like the MDR (but actually we do know the menus there). steamboats
LSM212 Posted September 26, 2018 #21 Share Posted September 26, 2018 Thanks. Have made a reservation for the Solarium Bistro to try that out also, it seems to come well recommended! 👍🏻
