The Celebrity Revolution

New CELEBRITY BROCHURE has arrived via snail mail. Very glossy.,. has info, PR and photo depictions of the REVOLUTION re-dos and a time line of when the ship's will be done. It's a nice PR piece.

The former Michaels Club ..M Class is labelled " The Retreat Lounge"...answering issue discussed on this thread, Also shows suites and a Veranda stateroom with traditional sliding door and open storage ,

Nothing elegant or lux.....just clean lines...and new on the surface!

Pics similar to what's been shown online but it is a nice brochure to browse ,,Best part for us was the pic of EDGE and Flora.

How did you manage to get them to send you a brochure??? I used to request them and get them. Now, my requests fall on deaf ears.

We got our brochure yesterday and did not even ask for it. They must have heard we decided to skip next year ($700/$800 ish increase in price for the same cruise on the Summit..it would be our fifth ) did not delight me and I guess are trying to change our minds.

I've tried not to keep up with the changes...but I've been told by "the one who rules our travel choices" that I'm now booked on the Millenium post update. What are they changing in concierge and aqua cabins that's significant?

It just arrived in our mailbox, I did recently order online..and receive an updated Celeb brochure.,,partial deck plans for EDGE but nothing about the new planned updates. Maybe they used that list???

I believe most /all the info, pics and timeline are on the X website... but maybe you can call Cap Club to get the marketing mailer it is titled "What If WeTook Our Entire Fleet to The Edge",... tried to upload a pic of cover page but file was too large for Cruise Critic...

Interesting, on a Revolution presentation, they said that the M Class Retreat Sundeck would be top deck, way forward. It doesn't seem big enough, as they said it would seat 140-150 and there would be seats for 36 for dining up there, if guests wanted to dine there. I've never been up there so maybe it is bigger than it looks on the deck plan.

It also sounded like the Retreat Lounge would be Michael's remodeled, but that wasn't entirely clear. The footprint of MC on M Class does look similar to one of the pictures of the M Class Retreat Lounge. The windows look like the frosted windows overlooking the hallway leading to the theater? It does look very different because it is open and so much lighter.

Just my opinion not looking to fan the flames!

For purposes of comparison, I tried but failed (due to size issue)...to upload a pic of the Oceania Concierge Lounge..current Glaciers and Gems, brochure, p 9.

Same muted colors but less grayish ashy tones., .Beautiful designer finishes, hi end furniture, rug, art and sculpture.,, Nothing really wrong with the X version but it does remind me of the show on TV where they take a high end designer room and duplicate it with more affordable items,

Maybe just a diff vision Modern Luxury...neither is right or wrong, and when seen in person we might change our opinion..

Sure wish I could post that photo...working on how to shrink the size,,,any ideas???

Does anyone have any information regarding the bathroom upgrades? Will they be replacing the "tub/shower" combo in Sky Suites and Celebrity Suites on the M-class ships with a nice shower? I am not a fan of those tubs. And, I wonder how many folks actually even use the tubs to take a bath?

Still a tub/shower combo but designed a bit differently. This video showing a tour of a model Sky Suite cabin from Edge gives you a live visual.

Thanks for the info and the link. I am familiar with the tub/shower combo that will be in SS on Edge but I wasn't sure if they were also going to be installing this type of tub/shower combo on the M-class ships during the Revolution.

That's from the Edge. The question was: what will happen to the M class sky suites? I'm not sure anybody but Celebrity knows the answer and they're not telling. I hate those hazardous tubs with the huge sides as well!

Me too, Happy Cruiser 6143. Those tubs are definitely not made for anyone with any sort of knee flexibility problems!! A friend of mine (with no knee issues at all) stayed in a SS on Summit last year and she hated getting into and out of the tub .... she said it was an "accident waiting to happen"! And, as I said, I wonder how many folks actually use the tubs to take a bath???

Call the subcontractors today!! Kill the Gastrobar. Per the Wall Street Journal today 7/28, "Americans declining thirst for beer" Don't build another under used space. Craft cocktails are the scene for the new clients you want to attract. Aperol Spritz and Negroni's are the new wave. Offer choices in Vermouth and check out the bar scene in Mediterranean ports. Time to avoid another mistake.

Then call the bath designer. Tubs are out!! Luxury walk in showers with high end fixtures are all the rage.

There is still time Celebrity!! Get the design team together and fix this.

Vt..you are amazing...yup that's the one...just a bit warmer and plush than the X version,

We are considering Oceania after out Nov EDGE cruise ..maybe Spring 2020...but ..not yet sold on the small ship size for ocean trvl, but love the decor, upscale amenities, described experience, etc and they have the itin I am looking for,, still thinking on it

This is far more warming, not so stark - obviously, only my opinion.

I agree, I think the X colors have too much gray in the beige...making it appear more somber...guess we'll find out soon enough how the light and colors are in person! Either way...a brand new cruise ship by X with modern design is something to look forward to,...for sure!

About the tubs:

Never had a bath tub on a cruise but would not like a high step over....esp when ship is in motion..I prefer a shower with grab bars....and maybe a sep tub..not a combo.

If you post the pic of EDGE BLU here, .it shows the beautiful light and warmer colors...blue and ivory.....nice light through the windows..,.very shimmery,

IMO...Not much needed to upgrade existing M and S Class BLU decor...it was ahead of its time! Will be interesting to see what they do,.l

Thanks for responding. I was looking for Edge Luminae photos. We're sailing B2B on Edge next year. However, I'm interested in new Millennium Luminae photos after the Revolution update.

They're welcome to put in separate tubs, but I haven't taken a shower in a tub for 30 or so years EXCEPT when I'm in one of those M class sky suites. Come on, Celebrity, get with the program. That is SO outdated. And yes, definitely an accident waiting to happen.
