Today we drove back from Punta de Leste to Montevideo. We chose secondary roads along side the beach and had a great day.

In Montevideo, we opted for a hotel close to the airport (we fly tomorrow) in an historical building.

The hotel restaurant is very good. We had a prime rib, and you have the option to choose your knife.

We had a white wine with the breads + olive oil and a Tannat with the meet. Both were very good.

I do  hope that DaveyWavey has been able to leave Lady Eliot Island as between there and Brisbane has been a solid band of really heavy rain. already flooding in Brisbane.

Possibly may fly them to Hervey Bay or Bundaberg as it would be a very rocky ride flying to Brisbane in a small plane.

I’m not flying off until 2pm tomorrow so fingers crossed it will be better. Been snorkelling on the reef today and grateful that the sun is in hiding. Just enjoying a Bundaberg Rum (Lady Elliot Lighthouse blend) and Ginger Beer on the deck right now.

So the luck has continued. We had the heaviest rain here on the Sunshine coast since 1992 when a cyclone crossed the coast near Bundaberg. And here you are just on the northern fringe so temperature drops but no downpour.

The reain will be further north tomorrow and Bundaberg will get 2 inches of rain. Today we were close to 12 inches of rain.

May your luck continue.

Thanks DrRon, looks like it is, I must admit I enjoyed watching the storms from the safety of the Island overnight. Lots of snorkelling on the reef today so just enjoying a cocktail for my last night.

I usually just scroll on by the advertisements that appear at the top and bottom of the Silversea forum board, but the following has been at the top of the forum list for several days.  I'm aware of the $4,000 reasons to sail promotion, but is there also a $6,000 one?

The $6000 is for Aussies and is $A6000 which equals $US4000.

Lots of great funnies and stimulation at the Cooler.  Now starting our second day in India as we work our way to Mumbai and boarding the Silver Moon on Feb. 14 (hopefully) for our adventure to Sir Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

Now staying at the Taj Mahal Delhi hotel that is is very, very impressive in its quality, service, etc.

Here below were are right near lively Old Delhi’s sprawling and hyper-busy market areas as we are shown at the largest Mosque in India.  Can hold up to 100,000 worshipping here.    Super nice weather, air quality decent and better this morning.  It's a SUPER fascinating city!!

For a sample of life in Old Delhi, here is a one visual from Street Food in action.

Will start a live/blog after we board the Silver Moon.  The staff (mostly) should be well rested after the twenty plus days without passengers circumnavigating all, way, way around Africa to reach India and our sailing.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio
