There will most likely be a MDR open for lunch on embarkation day despite what the crew will tell you.  It tends to be in the MDR on deck 6 midship.  If the ship has an Alfredo's, it will be open as well for lunch.

Yes, it will be open from noon to 1:30? Not sure on the time. You will be directed to the buffet, but there will be a dining room open mid ship, Same one that does Club Class dining. Club class enters on one side, and the other side is open for everyone else.

It has always been 12:00 to 1:30 PM for all the ships we have been aboard.  We love to go to the MDR for lunch on embarkation day and escape the masses in the HC.  We have been on the Royal and Regal and did enjoy going to Alfredo's for lunch on embarkation.  Most pax did not realize it was open so keep it quiet.  🤐

The specific MDR and the hours (noon to 1:30 always in our experience) will appear in the Dining Section on the back page of the Patter which will be in your room when you drop off your luggage and available at the Passenger Services Desk if cabins aren't available until after dining begins.

Sometimes it opens earlier than noon. On one ship, it opened at 11:30. On the Royal last month, it was in the Allegro Dining Room at the back of the ship from noon until 1:30. That was the dining room open for breakfast every day and lunch on sea days but traditional at night. They had Club Class section during the breakfast and lunch hours, but during dinner, Club Class was in another dining room.

We just got off the Royal Princess. We had a b2b with a turnaround day in Quebec City. The first day ended with an overnight there and the second started with an overnight. So we had 3 days and 2 nights in QC. No MDR was open for lunch on turnaround day.
