I can't tell if tug is actually against the ship - but she is SB stern and very close if not in contact.

Webcam person on FLL-SW is doing a great job on this docking - plus Zuidy backed-down the ICW so she could go straight out. Her usual docking position.

Wow -- she really arrived late.

 

A lot of people are going to be unhappy if they had early flights and didn't change them yesterday -- I am sure that everyone was warned yesterday about her arriving late in Ft Lauderdale.

We thought that the Zuiderdam was docked out of view this morning. The building with the webcam, Sky Harbor, blocks part of our view of the port from our balcony. We just assumed that the Zuiderdam was docked at, 19. Imagine our surprise when she (the Zuiderdam, not terminal 19) came sailing by after 9 am. 

 

Tug assistance isn't unusual if a ship is in a rush. It can help cut the time in the turning basin down dramatically. Hope everything is OK, because we're on her in a month.

It was confirmed by passengers onboard that the delay was a result of Starboard azipod problem. They hope to get it resolved quickly in port and todays departure shouldnt be delayed too long.

Rotterdam left a little early from Aruba, camera is panning,  I missed her. But still got to see pieces of her sailaway.

DH discovered that his car should have been inspected by Oct 31.  So yesterday he called and was lucky to get an appointment for today -- 4 PM -- last one of the day.  Then he discovered that the battery in his key had died.  Don't know when we will get the call to pick up his car.

 

May or may not be here at 5:30 for sail away.

And the U.S. Navy is still exercising off Ft. Lauderdale

There was supposed to be a ship there tomorrow - but the port schedules now says the 19th - X Edge. Let's see if that holds true.

Those three jet-way frames appear much too close to each other to be operational yet (and there's a black construction crane in the center of them), plus you can see other white-painted parts to the left of the main frames. Time will tell when that first X-ship will start using that terminal

I believe Jeff Farschman is sailing on the Zuiderdam today for his mega cruise. He is not doing the Amsterdam World Voyage this season.
