RealDeal Posted December 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2018 I'm a seasoned cruiser, but I've never paid attention to this. Wondering if specialty dining is more or less crowded on evening chic nights. Thx!!

Lots of people go to Specialty restaurants on Chic nights so they don’t have to dress up since the dress code is always smart casual.

Rare cruisestitch Posted December 9, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2018 But lots of people also go to the MDR those nights just for tgexmenus there. The table across from mine was empty all but three nights, embarkation and the two chic nights.
gerelmx Posted December 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 9, 2018 Several prefer to go to the MDR on chic night because the menu of the day is one of the best available.

Correct, my earlier comments goes back to the days when there were formal nights. We actually had people starting threads back then as to the dress code in the Specialties so they could avoid getting dressed up in the MDR where the formal code applied. This continued after the new dress codes although very rarely do we see those threads now because most people I think realize that the Smart Casual and Evening Chic dress codes are pretty much the same. Probably still happens but not as much.
kkmiausa Posted December 14, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 14, 2018 Do women wear long gowns? Men tuxedo? We can do specialty anytime would MDR still exceed Murano?Thank you
jelayne Posted December 14, 2018 #9 Share Posted December 14, 2018 Rarely see a long gown. Do see a few tuxedos & some suits. IME most men wear a sport coat or long sleeve shirt with or with out tie.

And, in my opinion, much better than the dining room. 😊
Ozzmund Posted December 15, 2018 #11 Share Posted December 15, 2018 Agree with Texed. However, the menu in Murano will be the same Evening Chic or not. The MDR menu on Evening Chic is some of their very best food.
