seaox Posted December 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2018 We are two families traveling from Nassau county to Manhattan cruise terminal. Any recommendations on best way to get in with our luggage? Thanks.
Rare Noxequifans Posted December 23, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2018 Sounds like 8 passengers plus luggage would best fit into a small bus. Suggest checking rates and reviews for companies serving Nassau.
mjkacmom Posted December 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2018 We are a family of 7 from NJ (10 miles from Manhattan). I’ve oriced our car service, and two cars are usually cheaper than one van.
Rare Got2Cruise Posted December 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 24, 2018 I would get 2 Uber X. You’ll need space for the luggage.

Eight people and luggage will require 2 UBERXL at a minimum and maybe more if there's a lot of luggage. UberX cars are ordinary sedans and two wouldn't even be close to sufficient.
Rare mking8288 Posted December 24, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 24, 2018 We are in N.E. Queens by the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, just book our early January 2019 trip to MCT using Carmel - just 2 of us with 3 bags as it's a 14 days, a standard 4 dr sedan would do. Beware that as of 12:01 am - Jan 1st. 2019 onward, ALL trips into Manhattan, south of 96th Street, river to river are subject to a congestion surcharge of $2.75 per vehicle, added to the base fare + tolls. Priced out Lyft for comparative reason, they aren't that much cheaper these days and saving is minimal ... although, the Honda Civic & Toyota Camry that we rode in last week will fit & meet our needs - 4 adults & luggage won't do, the routing would likely be going over the bridge into Bronx-upper Manhattan & down the West Side Hwy, unless coming from the south shores of LI. With Carmel or Dial 7, it's typically a Toyota or Honda minivan, it "can" take 5 to 6 riders plus one checked bags, and reasonsable # of hand luggage - a case of YMMV, depending on the headcounts & bag counts. Two full-size sedans might work, or one sedan & one minivan, but, with the kitchen-sink equivalent in tow, will need 2 minivan. Be careful if you book one minivan to fit all into & they end up assigning a large SUV, like those 8 passenger Yukon, where luggage space can be limited, as a "free" upgrade.
