Speaking of don't want...

I hope the Icon has a Aqua Dome (or whatever it's being called) somewhat like that of Wonder of the Seas.

A flat dome...

And not a rounded dome...

Just saying, I hope that the <insert name here> Dome's final design looks more like the first two images. 😳

I'm hoping to see a recent photo of the framework.

I sense that you already know what the AquaDome looks like. 😎

Dare I ask if you know how many FlowRiders the Icon will have?

1. Maybe.

2. Distract Tough as Leather (apparently a FlowRider fan) with a cute photo of a dog because he may not like the answer.

I sense that the answer is one. 😁

Here is a potential funnel (in background) photo to cheer up Tough as Leather. 😄

Prettiest ship dome I ever sailed

Hmm...funnels are usually painted before being installed. Curious why this one looks dark blue/black. I also noticed that some of the decks with 'infinite balcony' cabins are also dark blue rather than white. And we've seen Icon's hull shares the Oasis & Quantum-class light blue livery. Could Icon introduce another change to RCI's look?

So where do you think the AquaDome is going to be located atop the ship?

Up front, middle or back of the ship?

Middle would be nice, but I think it is going to be combined with the Solarium which will likely remain at the bow of the ship.

Some elevator lobby photos from the bowels of the ship most likely.

(Remember that  guy on FB who would complain when people in ship related groups took photos in portrait mode rather than landscape? In this case, i get it now. 😁)

I see elsewhere  that the rink is in the aft end of the ship under the Boardwalk (or whatever it is) neighborhood. Some of the rink's seating is contained in that lone hull piece with the Icon name on it, and an identical piece that has made an appearance.

Wow where did you see that. Another interesting change/twist. Wish “they” would allow us to share some of those pictures here 😀

A nice view from some venues on the port side!

Call me crazy, but I'm not convinced this is just a huge window or glass wall. Normally, these large glass areas on a ship have supports for the panes of glass—look at construction photos of Eden on the aft of Celebrity's Edge-class ships, 270 on RCI's Quantum-class ships, or the wall of glass in the atrium of CCL's recent Excel-class.

This framed opening on Icon looks different. I'm not sure what it's for, but we may be looking at something more than just a window.

Kinda like Legos

And it helps that they combined some blocks to make mega blocks. They can install 2-3 blocks in one shot. 🙂

So when they say AquaDome, do they literally mean dome shaped? Goodness knows football arena 'domes' come in different shapes.

If the AquaDome is NOT literally dome shaped (elongated, warped, flattened at the top, etc.) it could look okay in at the bow, the middle or the stern of the ship. Royal would find a way to incorporate it into the structure of the ship.

If it is literally dome shaped, then it may look decent in the middle, stern or close to the bow. It could be placed on deck 15 and protrude into deck 16 in order to reduce its outline (the correct term?) above the ship as much as possible.

I having a bit of difficulty picturing a round dome at the actual front of the ship perhaps combined with the Solarium as I seem to recall someone saying it would be somewhere in social media.

By the way, I get that they need to make it high and/or big enough to incorporate the high diving boards (can they do without?) and both the Solarium & AquaTheater features (seating, diving boards, etc).

Hmmmm. Not a big fan.

If the aquadome is indeed up front incorporating the Solarium, I hope that it isn't an actual big round shape. Maybe take the Wonder of the Seas' Solarium and stretch it upward a couple of feet, with the straight/flat rear of it incorporated into whatever will be behind the dome.
