We sailed MSC once back in 2018 and did the status match with Celebrity. I thought it was to Black level but when I checked their website last year it was showing me at Diamond, with an expiration date of 12/31/23 (which was later than it should have been). We have a cruise booked for March, and I was thinking we would not have status (not a huge deal since we are doing YC), but just logged in and see that I am still diamond with a 10/2027 expiration. Has anyone else experienced this? I figured I would have to try applying for the status match again, which I understand is supposed to be a one-time thing but have read others say that they were able to do.

Black has been renamed Diamond.  Due to COVID MSC pushed out their loyalty expiration dates (yours seems to have gotten double the amount of time).  If you are showing Diamond with an expiration of 10/2027 I wouldn't try do anything with your loyalty term or ask any questions.

I figured that the 12/23 date was my Covid extension, since it should have expired in 2021 (plus I think it only should have been extended to 2022). Obviously, I am not going to do anything if the date stays as 2027.  I'm wondering if anyone else who was supposed to have expired last month also got a surprise extension.

I do have a cruise booked for March, so it would make sense for them to have extended it to then. But that doesn't seem to be something that MSC typically does (i.e., things that make sense).

Elite  plus on Celebrity now matches with Gold need to do my Husbands as well not cruising with MSC until October 2924

Given that each person can only match once and that status on MSC expires if you do not complete a cruise within 3 years, it might be worth holding his match in reserve for the future.

Few of the benefits make much difference individually as most are extendible to the cabin or are only allowed once per cabin.

Then if you don't cruise often enough with MSC you've still got a second chance to match, but if you do cruise often enough you'll find the points build quite quickly anyway...

We have just status matched being Pinnacle with Royal to Diamond with MSC.

And have our first cruise with MSC booked.

How long did it take until your status match was approved?

Overall it took about 3 days as they initially processed my request incorrectly.

Thank you. I applied last Wednesday (Jan. 3), but haven't heard anything yet.

I'm trying to submit my details on the status match page but it will not allow me input the address details. It recognises that I am in Ireland but nothing appears in the drop-down for county, city or province and it won't just met me type in them either. Has anyone encountered this before? I've tried a few different browsers and devices in case it is an issue with anything like that.

Update: After a week of hearing nothing from MSC about a status match, I resubmitted a request on my cellphone yesterday (Jan. 10). That time I received this onscreen message:

“Thank you for registering for MSC Cruises Status

Match program. Your submission has been received and will be reviewed shortly. Stay tuned to the email address you provided for further details.”

I hadn’t received that message after I applied a week earlier, so I think my multiple requests at that time cancelled each other out.

Today I received an email from MSC confirming my status match, so I now have Diamond Voyageur status!

I just matched to Gold from HH Gold.

I booked the cruise months ago - will I still get the $50 on board credit? That was the main reason for the match. The note in the status match email say I had to include my number at booking.

all you can do is try. I must say that MSC is a stickler for details. Hopefully they prove me wrong and you get it.

I was able to get the 5% savings a week after booking (a whopping $14.90) - but I didn't see a $50 onboard credit mentioned in the list of perks.

I am Platinum with Disney and Sapphire with NCL. Does it matter which one I use?

Use Disney, you may get Diamond with that, Sapphire with NCL will only get you Gold at most.

I think I understand the status match, my question is when you do a match does MSC also award a certain number of points as your starting point? For example, if three people are Emerald, Diamond and Diamond Plus respectively on RCCL, they each would be status matched to Gold on MSC. Would MSC then award each of these the same points or do the points vary on what level you used to status match? Would a Diamond Plus status match get more points than an Emerald status match even though they both would be status matched to Gold?

Tried to find this answer, but no luck. Thanks, in advance for the help.

They would all get the same points, it is determined by the level you match to, not the level you matched from...

Does any of the perks kick in...$50 on board credit etc. I booked w/ casino so got a great rate. How do I go about obtaining Gold status prior to Sunday? Any Help is most appreciated

Hoping to create some kind of central location for people who have successfully status matched, feel free to update with your experience. Please try to keep it in order so that it's easy to find.

Column 1 is the place you have your non-MSC status, Column 2 is the level of that status, Column 3 is the MSC status that was matched to.

As I understand

Hilton Diamond = Gold

Marriott Gold = Silver

Anyone matched from IHG Platinum who can shed some light on what that matches to?

your chart was SUPER helpful for me, thanks for that!
