Casino of the Seas Pricing ?

I received a post card from a casino that I had gotten a free cruise certificate. All I had to do was pick it up this weekend. Problem is the casino is 16 hrs from where I live. I contacted casino of the seas to see if we could get the offer and the said no not without the certificate but they could offer of casino pricing and asked what cruise and stateroom I wanted priced. Now I haven’t heard back from them but was wondering if anyone knew what casino pricing was ???

Casino at Sea, (CAS) has a variety of pricing,  depending on your play.  Not sure how they would figure it for you if you haven't sailed with them.  The offer could be anywhere from 20% off to a full comped cruise.  I would call the CAS department to see what they offer you.

Since you did not get your Hard Rock offer (and don't want to drive to the Hard Rock), the CAS rep on the phone should be able to tell you, on the spot, what they are willing to offer based on your prior play on NCL ships. How did you contact them? If you are a rated player on NCL, you are often offered a comp'ed or steeply discounted room.

ask them to send you the casino certificate details, and you can book it using the comped certificate.  I've skipped out on going to the casino several times to pick up the cert, and just called CAS and had them email me the details.  They can look up the certificate if you give them what casino the offer if from, and you player's card number from that casino

I wanted to switch cruises using Casinos at sea benefits ..I was  told no more singles rates ..so my cAbin  would be over 4500$ ...a little too much adding flights and epenses 

i needed to cancel my transat on Epicand got a great deal with Holland America. With their cas rep . for another transat in fall .....Flights in Nov are very expensive ....so better to go in October 

sorry NCL bring back solo prices for cas players ....after all you will get $$ as I play slots 

hope i wont regret having 2 cruise next coupons

Just a note that if you are Ruby or Elite level with CAS, you are still eligible for solo rates.  Solo rates were eliminated for all levels below Ruby, however.

FYI:  Sapphire level is available for solo CAS players.  I booked an oceanview yesterday as a solo CAS player on a nine night NCL STAR cruise for March 2020.

But if you have a certificate from a land based casino, you can still travel solo.  I believe you guys are referring to just calling CAS and booking based on your previous play/ card level.

I wish CAS would just list these as a FAQ.   I'm Ruby with them so no problem, however it's confusing when they keep telling us different things.   I guess the best suggestion for everyone is just call and ask what they can do for you.

Just to clarify - are you saying you are Sapphire level but were NOT charged a double upgrade charge when travelling as a solo?  (i.e.. you UPGRADED from your original comp level - e.g. Oceanview upgraded to Balcony - but were only charged a single upgrade fee?)

No.  I am saying that as CAS Sapphire level, I booked a 9 niter for an oceanview and was not charged double.  I believe my cost was around $350 total for just one in the cabin.  This included the dining pkg. and wi fi and port taxes.

So that was a comp cruise, not one you "purchased."  If you had asked to PURCHASE an upgrade from your oceanview comp to a balcony, you would have been charged double the upgrade fee at Sapphire level.   Or if you didn't have any comp and were just looking for a 20% off "casino rate", you would be charged double occupancy as a solo.  This was not always the case and what was being discussed.   However,  if you are Ruby or Elite level, you can still get the solo rates.

This was a 'comp' cruise.  If I were to upgrade from this oceanview comp to a balcony, I personally would choose to bid on it.

i understand.  I was just trying to clarify my original post.  Other posters stated that ALL solo pricing was gone  and I just wanted to point out that it still exists for Ruby and Elite level players.  Your post about Sapphire still having solo rates was not correct (solos can still get comp cruises, but not solo upgrade pricing.)  Just wanted to clarify for those interested in that info.

Comped rooms are being internally charged as a double. That is, if you are a solo cruiser and are comped an oceanview room, your reservation record shows that the casino has "paid" a double occupancy rate for the room. The double occupancy rate for that room on the day you booked it is the base for any future upgrades.

If a sapphire solo cruiser wants to upgrade to a balcony, CAS will take the double occupancy oceanview rate they have in your record and subtract it from the current retail double occupancy rate for a balcony and charge you the difference. 

 

If a Ruby or Elite solo cruiser wants to upgrade to a balcony, CAS will take the double occupancy rate they have in your record and subtract it from the current retail double occupancy rate for a balcony and charge you the 1/2 the difference. 

 

Bottom line is that upgrades for Ruby and Elite solo cruiser work exactly the same as it has in the past. Upgrades for Sapphire and below will be charged double the per person difference between the booked rate and the current new rate. It is similar to bidding for an upgrade where solo cruisers pay double the bid price if awarded.

If you won your bid, you would pay double the amount of your bid as a solo - so unfortunately no way to get around the double charge for an upgrade for Sapphire or below any longer for solos.  ☹️
