coloradocruiselover88 Posted October 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2019 Hello fellow cruisers; first time for Viking Ocean and have questions about the speciality dining. All show sold old for 2 person (Manfredi's and Chef Table) and to inquire on board for group tables. So my questions: 1. Where do you go to inquire on board about group tables? 2. Where you successful in getting into a group table once onboard (we have a party of 8). 3. In the main dining room is it easy to get a table for 8? Thank you in advance for your advice, information and help. Kathi

I know of one group of 10-12 friends who travel together often who will do this because there are only two 12-place tables in the dining room. Another approach: Since you will all have to make advanced reservations separately, once you all made your reservations, one person can contact Viking at tellus@vikingcruises.com, with the names and booking number for each cabin, and ask to have the reservations linked and to make any changes necessary so that you are all dining in the same place at the same time and at the same table. Give a phone number as well, so they can call you if necessary.

Rare terrydtx Posted October 25, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2019 We are also first time VO cruisers. We are booked on the Viking Sea next September with two other couples. Two of us have PV1 cabins and one has a PS1 cabin. How do we book specialty restaurants so all 6 of us get the same table, day and time? The PS1 couple gets to book their restaurants online before we can in the PV1 cabin so can they book for all 6 of us? Thanks for any help
Cienfuegos Posted October 25, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2019 With Chef's Table, in particular, there's lots of adjusting selected nights, etc as menus are considered. People may not care for the Asian Panorama selections, but may prefer West Indies, and so on. The first afternoon / evening aboard always sees lots of rescheduling, based on two VO cruises. On our recent Norway to Barcelona cruise on Viking Sky, both Chef's Table and Manfredi's had abundant availability after 7.30 pm
Peregrina651 Posted October 25, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Each cruise certainly has its own vibe and its own rhythm. Just because Ciefuegos found plenty of seating after 7:30 does not mean it will be the same on your cruise. You just don't know until you get there. Not a Georgia Peach Posted November 16, 2019 #9 Share Posted November 16, 2019 It depends on your cabin category.

Not a Georgia Peach Posted November 17, 2019 #11 Share Posted November 17, 2019 You will be able to make 1 reservation for each of the specialty restaurants when your reservation window opens at 60 days prior to departure. Other reservations can be made when you are onboard depending on the availability.

Peregrina651 Posted November 17, 2019 #13 Share Posted November 17, 2019 Helpful BUT note that it is written for TAs in the UK. In the US/CAN market, tips are not included in the cruise price and the deposit amount and pay in full dates are different.

The number of reservations also depends on the length of cruise. In a DV for the 2nd half World Cruise, MVJ states we can make 5 reservations in each.
