Anyone have luck lift and shift a comp casino cruise

Recommended Posts

This was posted on another thread (one which I seemed to have ticked a few folks off from-lol!), so, it might work for you! I actually moved my from August cancelled comp cruise to the 11/1/20 sailing due to casino rooms still being available. I look forward to that cruise!!

"UPDATE: Based on some posts I saw on the Club Royale social media site, I called back and asked if I could just "move" my cancelled comped August cruise. The answer was Yes, but only to certain Caribbean cruises sailing between September 15 and February 2021, that had "casino-rate cabins" still available. So I moved my August Symphony cruise to a January Oasis. I tried to get Allure for December but all "casino" cabins had already been booked. But I am happy I was able to move my cruise!"

Yes but it’s complicated.

i called in yesterday and did L&S on one cruise no issues, the other I’ve left for now.

Cruise one was the JS comps they did for the summer. If you have a blue invoice that looks nothing like the normal CR invoices they are easy to L&S and you just pay difference in port fees.

Regarding our normal comped room we were told we can lift and shift the room but that the original booking would be cancelled, then rebooked and the comp reapplied at same time. This meant we would have to pay port fees and taxes on new booking and wait for refund for all port fees, taxes etc etc from original booking.

also had to rebook by July 10th and sailings only up to end February. There is limited capacaity per sailing so some sailings are blocked eg Oct 18th Harmony was blocked.

Also if TA tries to do online it shows next year range which isn’t applicable to the casino bookings. It has to be called in to CR.

I was able to move our 1 August 2020 Symphony casino comp (cancelled with this latest round of cancellations) to 13 Feb 2021 Symphony. They price protected it (I owed $4.20 in additional taxes/port fees).  We had upgraded from an inside to a JS for a total of $516 (cruise fare).  I agree that they will not allow you to do a "traditional" L&S but they will allow you to move your cruise up through the end of Feb. 2021 as @TYMAN posted above.  It was actually very easy and very helpful.  We did not try and change ships (we stayed with Symphony) but I have read of others who were able to change ships.  They also didn't seem to care that we were moving an eastern Caribbean to a western Caribbean.  They moved our air (booked through Air2Sea) as well although there was an additional $60 increase in airfare.  No big deal.  Since we already had a 6 Feb 2021 Symphony booked, this move now gives us a B2B. We were able to get the same JS for both legs.  Very happy with the results.

I am about an hour into my call with Casino Royale.  Looks like I will move my August Mariner cruise to November, in a better located JS (on the hump on 9) for $3.04 in increased fees.  Harmony from September being moved to Symphony for Feb. 13, 2021 (Harmony was not available for the last two weeks of February; Symphony was not available for the last week of February).  Again, better located JS (this one on deck 8 near elevators and Central Park) for $27.04 in increased taxes.  All prepaid packages are being refunded.  So my experience matches most others - if you had a comp cruise cancelled, you need to act quickly as casino cabins are filling up fast and be prepared to be on the phone for a long time.  Two different approvals needed per cruise.

Just got off the phone with the casino folks. I had our two Prime certificates booked for 2/21/21 Harmony. I was able to take the 08/30/20 cancelled Harmony comp cruise, move it to 2/21/21 (and the free play!!!!) and then use our Prime certificates for a Nov '21 Harmony cruise. It did take two hours on the phone, mostly for the work around of being no casino cabins available for Feb (they were able to put us in the same cabins!!). So happy to hear they're working with us on all the cancelled sailings and Casino comps!!!

Called Club Royale today too.

They said I could move my July 20 cancelled cruise to anywhere now thru Feb 2021.

Sadly I'll be unable to use it so I'll apply the funds to my Prime July 2021 booking

At least it wasn't a no this time.....sorry you can't join us on the 2/21/21 Harmony.
