No, not really.   Could have been the RU9, which is tied into OV or higher cabins.  Also, no one has mentioned as to whether the gratuities are included with the promo or not.

I just did a random mock booking and it looks like the gratuities are included. Also compared the price between Cheers and a Hot Streak casino offer I have. Cheers was $180 pp (yes, per person!) more and didn't include the $500 OBC I get with the casino offer. I could actually book with the casino offer, buy Cheers ahead of time, get $500 in OBC and save about $150 from the Cheers offer. Like I said before, it's not a good offer at all, at least for me.

Casino offers are a different animal.   It's  like comparing an apple to an orange.  Unfortunately I was offered the pit.

Ok, so instead of casino offer I can book under cyber Monday with $50 OBC for $214 PP, Cheers is $364 PP and no OBC. Still cheaper to book under cyber Monday and buy Cheers than to book the Cheers rate. I'm just using one of the first 3 day cruises that pop up under Cheers offer to compare.

3 day cruises are notoriously "booze cruises", so I am not expecting much of a savings.   It's been reported earlier in the  thread that people had to pay about an extra 200 for Cheers.  Of course if all depends upon the ship, the sail date and more importantly,  the length.

Bottom line,  I am still awaiting any of these booking codes in my offers box so I can compare rates and see if it makes economic sense to me based upon my particular booking.

If the RU2 code price with Cheers! is inflated $150 for a 3 night Cruise, it becomes a bundled offer, like Norwegian free at sea or Celebrity all inclusive.

Certainly not free.

Norwegian's sail away rate is the best deal, while Celebrity was much better value before it became all inclusive.

The best deal is what Princess does.   They have the basic no frills cruise only rate or the higher value package for 40 bucks more per night.  After factoring out the 14.50 for gratuities, that leaves you with 25.50 per night for drink package and wifi.

Hope you get it and hope it's not the RU9 code. RU2 seems to be better.

Earlier was a ru1 code, but I think they are migrating to higher and higher codes at higher prices, to see what the market will buy.

I can say no longer interested

absolutely correct !

Just increase  the prices with the Cheers package included to see how much the market can bear.

Even I am not interested any more.

Increasing the prices and saying that something  included is free is only a gimmick.

In 2016 Celebrity had a genuine offer, where you got the free drinks package or 300 OBC if you booked Ocean view or higher.

there was no price inflation.

it was a genuine offer.

Alas, now Celebrity has become all-inclusive at very very high rates

The RU9 is tied into an OV or higher cabin, which would end up costing substantially more in the end.  At this point I am not holding my breath waiting for one of the other codes. Just need to do a comparison and figure whether my final Carnival cruise to use up my gift cards will be on one of the Excellence Class ships or in the Havana area on a Vista Class ship.

Guess who finally got the offer!!!!!

But, of course it was the RU9.  What a joke.  The price difference was an extra 380 pp with  Cheers for a 7 night on the Mardi Gras in September.  Now, this is for an OV cabin.  It was an extra 415 for the two of us to go from our preferred mid to higher deck in an inside to an OV down in the family harbor area with the unruly rug rats.

So, an extra 760 for Cheers, plus 415 for the cabin upgrade, it would take our tab from 1325 in an inside to 2500 in a low deck OV.  I will contact guest services to inquire about the RU1 or RU2, but I fully expect it to lead to nowhere.

Lol, one thing you give up to book this code is early saver price protection. I was just saying elsewhere once people take a good look at protocols close in some may cancel and prices drop. Add in if prices drop within final payment you no longer get price drops.

I already got a cabin where I can see out. I just got a hotel the night before promising me a suite with beach view, even though I can drive, I just really want to see the ocean. Parking was paid for for april 2020 moved to my carnival date. I'm ready to sail. Taco cabana in Galveston has $2 margarita happy hour I will hit up before I leave. I'm not a drink every night type anyway.

Too bad we arent on the same cruise, I would enjoy talking to you and your wife. If you can guess my email  .. drop me a line.

LOL.  Four booked cruises but if Carnival doesn't want me, so be it!    A daughter and a granddaughter have both offered to drive to Key West with me.  Sounding pretty good.

Yes, that would be nice, but the major problem is that you cruise primarily out of Galveston for logical reasons and airfare to Houston for us is substantially more than FLA.

I have been liking your posts from before your "moratorium" from cruising until your recent return.  Hope your Dad is doing well, he's been blessed with a long life, would love to pick his brain to discuss the differences he's seen over the years.

Not sure where you live. I was thinking the palm coast or near tampa about now. Texas the water is too cold to swim in this time of year.

I heard key west had more bookings this winter than last winter, as do as couple of other places, myrtle beach was another. No wonder they dont need cruise ship business and voted no.

I drove down twice. I just love the drive even though its bumper to bumper this time of year. I love driving over those bridges and seeing the sun sparkle on the water. I've been a couple of times via cruise ship and it's not as good as driving.

Omg you dont mean that. He used to be quiet until his hearing got bad, now hes lonely and talks non  stop. Expect a lot of wwii stories.  Mom is 94 and hes 102, married since she turned 18 and yes they still live alone but I'm 5 minutes away. I took him to the hearing aide place Thursday and yesterday to gp, before that he'd only been out of the house once since march. Pick his brain, lololol he talks non stop.

We're in Texas.  It would be a long drive but I think I would love every minute of it.

I finally got the free cheers package email  😃 has anyone been successful in adding the promo to an existing booking??

I'm waiting for my PVP to call me back.

We just saw we have this promo ...already have cruise booked for October. Called our PVP and he said that he was surprised we got it since the promo was meant for people who dont have a cruise booked yet. But since we got it, we switched us without rebooking or losing deposit...it was 140 more per person
