Welcome Back.  It’s time to come back to the pool

Still happily following along - love all the pictures !

Will either of you be using the SPA ??

We usually get spa passes for the entire trip - just to lay around and enjoy the steam room, etc. (sometimes, maybe a massage for me)

Looking forward to boarding the Equinox in only 39 days !

I remember you posting when Celebrity announced no formal CC HH in the evening in the Sky Lounge when cruising resumes but you planned on still going up there to have drinks in the evening. Have you been going up to the SL in the evening and any others doing the same?

This has me written all over it! 😁

I’ll probably have to leave Mark in the casino for a while though. He would not be excited about this.

Sometimes I just don’t understand that man.

Report back what you thought of it.

How much are the cabanas?

It says on the sign at the Lawn Club $99 for port days and $249 for sea days. We booked our a little over a year ago and paid a little less, but I think these must be the prices now.

Hi there, appreciate your very thorough review so far.  Have you been able to get a pax count from anyone on board?  From your pool photos it looks pretty sparse.  Many thanks!

I don’t have passenger numbers. I’ve spoken to a few crew members, but nothing concrete. I’m still going to try to get that info though.

I don’t know about the gym. I will try to find out.

Not planning on the spa right now, but Mark likes to get a massage sometimes. If I get any specific information I will let you know.

It was pretty crowded where we were. We watched the first couple of songs (and it was very fun and energetic), but people kept pushing in around us and I wouldn’t have liked that before covid-times. So I definitely didn’t like it now.

I mean, I like people and all, but why you gotta get close enough to smell my shampoo.

I thought the singers were very talented though!

I posted this image on another thread but no answer.  Is this Equinox bathroom plug only for a shaver/toothbrush or is it powerful enough for a hair dry?  Would I need an adapter?

I don’t know for sure. Here’s a photo of the outlet. It does say “shavers only” on it. But there’s a hairdryer in the room if you’re not picky about what kind you use.

Had dinner tonight at Sushi on Five. It was excellent. Mark has been hesitant to try it. He hears “sushi” and thinks everything is raw and fishy. He was amazed that there were so many “cooked” items on the menu and has already asked me to find out if there’s availability for another night later in the cruise.

I had the Scallop and Shrimp Dynamite. It’s their version of a hot pot.

We shared a Shrimp Tempura Roll. The spicy Mayo and soy sauce made it even more delicious. The pickled ginger is house made and was yummy.

We didn’t have dessert at So5, but got a pic of the menu.

Walked across to Café al Bacio for dessert and a decaf latte.

Just look at this gorgeousness that is the Café al Bacio dessert case.

This is a slice of raspberry cheesecake. The raspberries baked into it tasted fresh.

And we had to top that off with a great cup of coffee.

After dessert we saw this evening’s production show, “Topper.” I didn’t really love the story and the general idea of the show, but every single one of the singers is very talented. The lead vocalist in this show was amazing.

The music was a mix of a few original pieces for the show and the remaining songs were various pop hits from the last few years.

Before the show, the captain came out and spoke about how he and the crew were very excited to be back at sea. And were so pleased to have passengers returning to the ship.

He introduced some of his officers and the audience was more than happy to show their appreciation with applause.

Got back to the cabin and found a gift waiting for us. It’s one of those canvas bags that folds back into itself.

Thank you for the close up.  Google says those shaver plugs can handle 20 watts.  I can't do without my T3 for my waist length hair.   Guess I must continue plugging in at the desk.

We used this for a night light. I don't think it can handle a hair dryer. Is labeled for shavers only.

The in room hair dryer has a European style plug which will only work in the outlet by the vanity -- not in the bathroom. OP had a picture of the vanity outlets earlier. The hair dryer is pretty wimpy. Not super powerful. And you have to hold down a button to keep it on. But it did the trick.

Lisa and Kevin

We used the gym 3 times to run on the treadmill. The app said reservations were required. My husband noticed that right away and worried about it, but it turned out to be nothing. We did not make reservations and no one was in the gym checking reservations. You just walked right in. There was no check in procedure of any kind. We hardly saw any staff at all, in fact. And the gym did not seem crowded at all during our cruise a few weeks ago, even on sea days which is when we used it. No problem getting a machine. I think you do have to make reservations for classes, but not just for general use of the gym, in our experience.

The bathroom has a light across the top of the mirror that automatically turns on dimly  when the main cabin light is switched off.  I leave the bathroom door slightly ajar at night for soft glow in the cabin. No blinding light in the middle of the night.  Not sure if all the S-class ships have that feature.

We got that bag on a previous cruise.  DW likes it a lot.

Yes, I’ve been there every night.  Even the Captan’s Club Host showed up on Tuesday.  It’s difficult to predict crowds because the passenger load is so low on this sailing but there are a group of veterans that shop up every night.  The bar was nearly full for a while and most of the window seats were occupied.

Sorry we can’t help you with the Spa, we’re not Spa people.  But I suspect they will still be operating at reduced capacity and I’m sure you will have a great time.

I didn’t think to elaborate at the time I posted this, but just remembered.

If you are like me and love having digital copies of everything in one place, this may apply to you.

The cellular service inside the terminal was horrible (at least with Verizon Wireless) and trying to connect to their WiFi in a timely manner was next to impossible.

I would suggest printing copies of everything to bring with you. Your negative COVID tests, your boarding pass (although I saved the boarding passes to my Apple wallet and it worked fine).

The CVS my health site took forever to bring up our test results and we easily could have saved time had we just printed them out.

You may want to add your Covid vaccine card to that list.  At the shore excursion talk yesterday the host said to bring your vaccine card or an electronic copy when you go ashore.  I’m not taking my card ashore but I did get a copy made at guest services.

I'm a (trying to be) retired EE, don't try to run a hairdryer (at least 500W) from a 20W outlet.

I used to take a small outlet strip with me so I could plug in all our chargers but a couple of cruises back, X confiscated it from me as part of their baggage boarding check.  I'm not sure but it's possible they also confiscate hairdryers, you should check the list of prohibited items.  They do give the confiscated items back to you at the end of the cruise.  The main pain with this is that my bag didn't arrive at the room and it took several phone calls before they 'found' it; then I had to go into the bowels of the ship to get it myself.  My wife just reminded me that this only happened on the Edge so maybe S class ships don't care?
