When did San Juan cruises change to vax only?

Recommended Posts

When I booked in early Aug it was not required to be vaccinated.  Even up til a few weeks ago when I looked at booking the same cruise, nothing was stated (like the FL cruises did ).  I got an email a few hours ago saying that you have to be vaccinated.  I have not received anything prior to this.  Anyone have details??  Thanks!

Thanks.  I did know about US ports, but never could see where that was really including PR esp since the websites didn't show the requirement when booking like true US states did.  I am thrilled about it and can now get my $ back so perfectly fine with me.

When I vacationed in PR a month or so ago, they had very strict protocols in place. When you checked in to hotel they asked for vaccine card and gave you a bracelet.  Many restaurants also asked for your card before entering.

Apparently it IS, to a large swath of the 'Murican public.

So it's a U.S. port. The salient point is it can have its own set of rules that differ from the mainland U.S. ...Good grief.

Given how they played out this entire covid pandemic, the rules would generally be much more strict than the rest of the US.  Recently I heard that Puerto Rico has the highest vaccination rate in the US, too.

Seems like everyone misses the fact that Puerto Rico has waited much longer than the rest of the US ports to restart.  It's not because they plan on lifting other rules.

And none of that really matters when RCI is the one who wants vaccines on all of their ships anywhere in the US.

If you just booked in August, why are you thrilled about it. Just curious?
