First impressions of first suite experience Apex

Hi All!  Thought I’d give some thoughts on our first cruise with Celebrity post pandemic. We’ve done at least 10 on celebrity and decided to upgrade to the retreat for our first suite experience. We’re in a SS and the room is really nice. Our room steward is really sweet, she’s  idoing a good job. We’ve only seen our butler/retreat host/butler a couple of times. So far nothing special. The filet last night in Luminae was very good. Service was great. I will say there’s not a lot on the menu that I’ll eat, but food is subjective. Will definitely try the main dining rooms. We’re hanging out at the pool area today and drink service is pretty much non existent. It’s not hard to walk up to the bar and order though. The staff in the retreat lounge are great. I needed help with my Wi-Fi and they fixed me right up. Another time my seapass didn’t work in the casino. No problem to get new ones. A side note on that- we both play in the casino. My husband was super disappointed to hear there isn’t and will not be any craps tables this week. That’s his game and he doesn’t play anything else. Oh well. I played blackjack last night at $25 per bet and lost enough for both of us😝. Played the machines some and they were cold. Saw no winners or hand pays. No idea how many are on this cruise but it is a diff vibe. Still having a good time, just our first impressions of the retreat. We’ll see how the rest of the week goes.

Just curious… No bar servers in the main pool area, or up on  the Retreat pool/sun deck area?

Your experience is totally different than our edge cruise, loads of waiters in retreat outdoor area by the pool , our butler was there all the time (I think penthouse had something to do with that) wife won 1000 on video poker and 300 on slots , I won about 700 on table games .

My experience is mine. I’m glad you had an outstanding one.

There is bar service in the retreat area, we just went to the bar to order. Seemed short staffed and nobody come to our area so we got it ourselves. Not a big deal to do so, just an observation. Husband ordered 2 luminae burgers and they were very good.

We were on Apex Retreat SS on the third cruise from Athens, only about 500 pax. It was lovely, we were practically the only couple on the non-pool side of the retreat deck, they were so attentive with the drinks and food offerings, and the lounge was so relaxing and service outstanding, like our own private ship almost!  We both realise that it will never be like it again, (always getting a cabana - unheard of!!), so we made the most of it and had an amazing time on an awesome ship.  Plus I won $1100 on the slots, and was the lucky 'hot seat' winner with a bottle of Jean Paul Gautier (or similar) cologne. Never been so lucky.

Cant wait to sail to Iceland next July on her once again, albeit with probably 4 times the pax!!
