I was reading an article and it said Carnival recently has been denying OBC stock requests for cruises that have been booked with a VIFP offer, senior discount, etc. Has anyone recently been denied an OBC for having a cruise booked with these offers? Hate to get my hopes up when chances are slim it might not come through. Thanks! We were denied ( discounted rate but not free or anything) but someone suggested to re-submit so we did and it was approved..so who knows?

BigChiefJJ Posted March 21, 2022 #28 Share Posted March 21, 2022 My first time submitting for this OBC, and I have a few questions: Is there an official form to fill out, or does everyone just put the info (name, booking #, ship, date) on a cover sheet and fax/e-mail/ mail it in? Has anyone had problems with e-mail, the benefit sheet makes it seem as Carnival is discouraging e-mail as you choose to do so at own risk as e-mail is insecure? Does everyone submit the full brokerage statement, or only the page that contain the CCL shares? Should it be the end of month statement or the transaction confirmation showing purchase of the shares?
ngrund Posted March 22, 2022 #29 Share Posted March 22, 2022 I just faxed mine last week and have my credit- I just sent the page from my statement that showed CCL shares, (had my address on it), blacking out the account #. On some available white space, I just wrote my name, confirmation #, ship and sailing date, and put my e-mail address The trade confirmation might not be enough, since someone could just buy shares and sell them right after
maluhia87 Posted March 22, 2022 #30 Share Posted March 22, 2022 I just got credits added yesterday. Sent online, used just the page from my current statement showing the shares. Redacted everything except my name and the Carnival portion. Details included; name, ship, booking number, and sailing date.

USU_Aggie Posted July 17, 2023 #33 Share Posted July 17, 2023 I'm reviving this topic from the dead since it will be relevant to my question. Is Carnival currently approving OBC for shareholders who are booked on VIFP rates?

USU_Aggie Posted November 6, 2023 #36 Share Posted November 6, 2023 As an update, I bought exactly 100 shares. I waited until they appeared on my monthly statement, submitted it to Carnival, and was approved a couple of hours later. Sailing on a VIFP rate. hard_eight Posted November 6, 2023 #37 Share Posted November 6, 2023 Our previous cruises were all on some form of VIFP rate and were granted. Going on the Conquest in 2 weeks and was denied. It was a $200 cruise with $200 in OBC so free basically. Not mad about that. If they stop honoring it on any reduced rates I'll be quite livid, not that anyone would care🤣
MagnoliaBlossom Posted November 7, 2023 #38 Share Posted November 7, 2023 The only ones we have had denied were complimentary casino cruises.

Typo... sorry. Not asking what it stands for... asking what "Sailing on a VIFP rate. " is ? What is a VIFP rate ? Are they speaking of Carnival offering a VIFP guest a $50 or $100 OBC... or perhaps half off the deposit... or something else ? Just trying to decern why a VIFP rate would impact getting a shareholder OBC. I know that special offers, such as casino offers, TA offers, and perhaps other highly discounted offers do not qualify for shareholder OBC. I just don't understand what someone means by "VIFP rate". john91498 Posted November 7, 2023 #42 Share Posted November 7, 2023 Ok, I assumed since you cruised Carnival, you be familiar with their loyalty program. The program starts at blue and goes up to diamond. The higher the tier, the better the deals. The person in question should have no problems getting the OBC since it's a VIFP rate and not a casino offer.
MagnoliaBlossom Posted November 8, 2023 #43 Share Posted November 8, 2023 My take on it is, the person received a special offer through the VIFP department. This could be casino, although casino offers are usually identifiable. I receive several of those every day. Some are casino, some re VIFP, others are just specials. With CCL it is at times difficult to understand where the offer comes from. if it is a significantly discounted cruise then your shareholder OBC will be denied. For instance, last month I was offered a $100 pp cruise, with $100 OBC, so essentially I was cruising for port and taxes only. No shareholder was bailable.m. The same is true with any deep discount cruise whether it comes through the casino of VIFP dept. or last minute deep discount. If you do not spend a certain amount of money, and I have no idea how they calculate that, they are not going to give you OBC. It’s just the way it is.

The denial even mentioned that although previous requests may have been approved, they were now following the terms and conditions of the shareholders offer. I waited a few weeks and resubmitted my email request for OBC, and it was approved and they even apologized for the previous response. Go figure.

One of you should just sell your 50 shares to your partner so that one of you owns the required 100 shares. Once this is done, stock perks is a new app that handles all of Carnival Corporation stock OBC. 2
