$25.00 Casino Cruise and Special Offer Questions

I took my very first 25.00 per person Casino Cruise recently. I was shocked to get the offer since I am not much of a gambler. I do use the casino but mostly about 100.00 to 200.00 on a week long cruise. I was wondering if anyone knew how often these offers come up and how far out the dates usually go. Also I noticed that my husband and I get different VIFP and Casino offers. If I were to sail without him could a Carnival PVP be able to transfer the offer to me? Wondering if anyone has tried this before. Thanks for any info!

Congrats on your cruise! Even though I haven't cruised in 8 years, There is hardly a day goes by that I don't receive an offer: premium, ultra, elite, free interior, free suites, etc. Some of the dates go out into 2023.  I don't know about the transfer. As you say, talk to a pvp. I do know the passenger, who booked the offer would have to be on the cruise, in order for  others in his/her party to board.

You cannot transfer a casino offer to someone else - even a spouse.  Person must be onboard and in the same cabin to "use" the offer.

Thanks. appreciate the info. I really wanted to use his offer to solo cruise since he cant take time off. Hopefully I will get some more of these offers myself!

My husband gets mystery past passenger offers that are better than mine for no particular reason. We both have the same nights cruised and don't use the casino so it's not related to that.

He's able to get a fantastic rate on a cruise in July we wanted to book, but our PVP said his offer can only be applied to his cabin and not extended/shared.... we need two cabins to accommodate our family of 6 so unfortunately we aren't going to book.... his cabin is half the price of mine!

That is just crazy!! I hope both of you wind up finding a good deal tied to your individual accounts!!

I get these Casino offers all the time.  Currently, my offer says I can book up to 3 rooms at really great casino rates.   Would that rate apply to all three?  The others do not get the Casino Offers - but since it says "3 rooms" does that extend to those other two that are VIPF members?

My first timer who spend zero in the casino is getting casino offers.

I don't spend that much either, but about 3 years ago, my son and his girl friend went with us (I had booked cruises for them) and they spent a LOT of time in the casino - my offers started after that.

If you really wanted to, you could.  He would book the room and add you, you board the ship and he doesn't.  After the ship sails off, go to guest services to truthfully report he couldn't make it.

The casino offers are pretty speciic about the person receiving the offer has to make the booking. The Player's Club has the information for the person who booked which is sent to the ship. The casino host will have a list of those who are eligible for the perks listed in the offer. Your spouse's name is what the Players Club will send to the ship. If the person who booked isn't on the ship and the spouse goes to the casino host,  she won't receive the perks - Fun Play, free drinks in the casino while playing, etc. - because she's not on the list.

Very true.  Also, if the gambler doesn't make the sailing it hurts their chances of receiving future offers.  However, often you can book multiple casino offers in advance, sometimes can even use the same offer code for multiple sailings, so that may not be a huge deal if the gambler skips only one sailing and gambles on the next.

Yup. This is what I did with the FDOUE + $1000 FreePlay + Free Balcony. I had three uses of that offer and booked three Cloud 9 rooms, two on the MG and one this winter on the Celebration.

and be prepared for an adjustment to your cruise price way up since the person who booked the offer isn't onboard.....

Luckily it doesn't work like that, booked price is the price they pay.

Really?  And you’ve had personal experience with that?

So my husband can book a cabin on a casino rate, add me to the cabin, then “accidentally” miss the ship?  And my rate doesn’t change?

Rather than trust folks on the internet (plus protocols can change at any time), why not call the casino dept and ask them something like "We're interested in booking a sailing but are concerned, what happens if one of us tests positive for covid, can the other person go on the sailing?"

So, no, you personally have not experienced this.

If one person tests positive for Covid, I believe both receive a future cruise credit, and neither are allowed to sail.

I’m not sure what would happen if someone with a casino deal were to miss the ship, but the chance that the remaining person is able to sail on that promotion is dicey, and until people say they’ve done it, I wouldn’t take the chance.

Suppose someone has a free 7-day in a balcony or suite, and at the last minute, misses the ship.   I just don’t see Carnival giving that cabin free to the other passenger.  Especially when it says in the language that the person who receives the offer must sail.

Rather than "believe", call them

LOL. No need to sit on hold with Carnival.

A quick review of Carnival’s website states:

What happens if I test positive for COVID-19 at embarkation?

Any guest who tests positive at embarkation, and their traveling companions in the same stateroom along with other close contacts, will not be able to cruise and will be provided a future cruise credit.

Covid aside, a gambler can book the room with others and the others can check in without the gambler ever boarding.  What you can't do is swap/transfer the gambler to someone else.
