As  long as you get the Rapid Antigen Test you will be fine.

We've used our County Health Dept. testing site several times with quick, accurate results both printed out for us for the Rapid Test and emailed with the additional PCR test within a day or 2. Easy, convenient and Free! Accepted by Royal, MSC and Carnival. Highly recommend.

If you choose to not use a Royal Caribbean recommended test provider, you need to make sure that you have results that they will accept:

• You must receive a valid results document from your test provider that includes the name of the lab that processed the test, the lab’s CLIA Lab Number or Certification Number, the address of the lab, your name, the date the test was taken, type of test, and your negative result. This can be a printed document, email, or telehealth app notification. Fully handwritten doctor’s notes (such as those written on a prescription pad) will not be accepted. Minimal handwritten components (such as a check mark on a “negative” box) are acceptable as long as the other required information is printed on the document.

Royal does not really check the tests - all they look for is date and name! Any test will do - the grandma checking the tests does not have time or knowledge to really get into each test certificate for thousands of passengers and then Royal has not interest in rejecting a test....so they just do the very bare minimum! Of course they can not put those facts in writing on their website!

Not exactly right. They thoroughly checked ours over last September – I would be fearful to take a wrong test and be denied boarding. Esp. because the person checking us in told us if you come with the wrong documentation, and they find out, you are left responsible for the price, not RCI.

September was totally different story ......we have moved on....

Also no risk you can take a new test on the spot...only takes 15 minutes - no need to worry!

First time back to Royal will be this month. But... 3 times on Carnival since August and the first person inside the port we encountered checked the Covid test report. (One from Walgreens and 2 from our local County health department). They matched the name and birth date on our passports, Covid Vaccine cards and Test result paper, checked for Negative result and passed us on through. Very cursory review and then told us to put that paper and Vaccine card away. No need for them beyond the first checkpoint. That was at both Galveston and New Orleans.

Hoping to have the same experience at Port Everglades.

When I cruised on Freedom a few months ago, the couple in front of me were told their test was not acceptable. The woman who was checking them in sent them over to the customer service desk in the terminal (Port Miami). I have no idea what the end result was or what kind of test results they showed, but at least one woman was paying attention during check-in.
