Ice Bucket in Cabin?

I shall soon sail on my first Carnival Cruise.  I’m going on the Carnival Sunshine and shall be in a balcony cabin.  Will there be an ice bucket in the cabin?  Will the steward provide ice each day?

If there is not an ice bucket by default just ask the steward for one and they will keep it filled with fresh ice every day.

If you use a lot of ice, we always carry a small soft side cooler and ask the steward to keep it filled each day. We give him $10 or $20 extra up front depending on the length of the cruise. We keep the cooler in the fridge to help keep the ice longer. The ice buckets are small and don’t keep the ice very long.

We also tip the room steward to keep the ice bucket filled. Bostwick Girl is correct that the ice buckets are very small and the ice melts quickly.

They do not keep them in the cabins anymore, at least not on my last 4 since the restart.  You have to ask for one.

I have filled a small cooler with the allowable beverages and then tip out the room dude $20 up front to keep it iced....keeps my Red Bulls and sodas nice and crispy cold.

Quick tip.....

Get a couple of towels and wrap around and on top of your ice bucket, keeps cold much longer

We use this tip ourselves.  Fresh ice each day and if melted a simple ask get fresh ice.

I have a few sizes of really leakproof, sweatproof, coolers and you can put the ice bucket in the fridge

We were on the sunshine in March.  The first day I requested ice for each day.  I moved the ice to an a large insulated cups and kept them in the fridge.  We still had almost all of the ice from the first day in one of the cups.
