Anyone booking with the new 50% off Memorial Day sale?

Recommended Posts

Some good offers. I just booked a 12 day Iceland, Ireland, Scotland cruise for August 2023 from London for four people in extended balcony for $3500. That's an excellent price for this itinerary and length of cruise for four people. Very excited. Check your VIFP offers. Only $396 deposit.

There are some very good rates indeed. Some are similar to the birthday celebration. Tempting to be sure. Not feeling so good about the economy right now and decided to go into a holding pattern for now and skip any travel for the rest of the year. The increases in drinks, parking, packages dining and shore excursions helped sway that decision. Everything feels overpriced/overheated at the moment and I'm tired of taking it from all angles. I'm going to wait and see what shakes out over the summer/fall. Too much uncertainty right now for discretionary spending but there are certainly deals to be had for those in a position to take advantage. Seems like a real-deal sale with some real bargains.

Yeah that price for the one from Barcelona (May 28, 2023 - Jun 9, 2023) is really low - 12 days for $2,130 for a Balcony for both people.   But I already have the Pride booked in September, 2023 or I'd grab it.

My "Plan now Save later" rate is still better since it comes with $500 OBC, but this special drops the price for my needed 2nd and 3rd rooms.  So I guess I will pull the trigger on a pre-Thanksgiving cruise I have been eyeing.  Might even jump from an OV to Balcony.

I agree, in addition airfare is so expensive right now, so if you have to fly to the port, it averages out to an okay deal, but not great.  I'm totally jealous of those of you who can drive to the port and take advantage of these great cruise offers.

I'm showing multiple Alaska cruises from $4 - $11 (interior), but they price much higher... most likely sold out at those prices.

Alaska is a high tax destination.  I’ve booked $140 extended balcony and it ended up being $412 after taxes as a solo.  With that being said, even at that price it was worth it for me to book figuring that in this inflationary environment which is hitting Alaska even harder makes the deals worth considering just to lock in the low prices in an inflationary environment since the trip would cost significantly more in the future.

I’ve been thinking about a Southern Caribbean cruise for 2024. This sale was good enough to make me go ahead and book. Now…who wants to volunteer to tell my hubby😂?

There are worse things you could be telling your husband so he should be happy. Haha!

Indeed, found some good prices on some package deals for a San Diego and a Vegas trip but they were teasers for the worst flights to lure you in and then jacked the prices up on any desirable flights. Booking separately wasn't a deal either. Frustrating, but I have limits and won't pay sucker prices. I don't want to blow money that bad to overpay. My inflation fatigue is very high. Heck, even driving isn't great when you factor in $161 to park and $200 for gas to get to the terminal and back. Sometimes a deal isn't a deal when you add up all the ancillary and extra costs that are associated. Much lower than flying though to be sure.

My DDs aren't excited about a 9 hour drive to Mobile, AL for our cruise but I said if you can find airfare for less than $468 total (including hotel) for the three of us, I'll do it.  Best they could do was $550/person.  Mommy is driving😎

I'm not seeing deals like that in my VIFP for the May 50% sale.  I am booking a good, not great deal out of PC for January 2024.  We can drive there😁

Did you get the right email for the Memorial Day sale ? Clicking through that link?

Don't blame you, it's also a good hedge in case anyone gets sick. Flying often only becomes a deal beyond 6 hours of driving, but even for us, driving to San Diego is often a much better value than the equivalent airfare and it's about 8-9 hours for us too (due to traffic), so I can understand your decision and would probably do the same. Especially, when you factor in transfers, uber or getting a rental. Plus airport parking can be ridiculous too. There are also a lot of cancellations to deal with these days.

Are others getting the Carnival Early Access Memorial day sale email today? I'm surprised there aren't more responses ......

Nope. No email from Carnival, nothing!

But, if the Casino is involved in any way, I never get those great rates.   I’m just guessing that I cruise often enough that “they” figure why offer a cheap-o rate?? 🤷🏻‍♀️😏

Not a casino offer.  You merely need to log into your account.

Probably because there are slim pickings.  Looks like there's a handful of cruises, including some peak summer, that are deeply discounted, but generally just one date per itinerary.  There were some "practically free" cruises earlier (mainly to Alaska) but those went very quickly.

I went this morning toCarnival & logged in, nothing. Read this thread, just logged in … nothing. I looked at the Insider Picks AND MY Deals.

Where is a Memorial Day Sale listed BTW??  When I logged in “the front page” doesn’t advertise any Sale. Just a Spa announcement — the normal.

Hi,

Nope. There is no Memorial Day Pre Cruise, Sale whatever they want to call it.

I have ZIP “Memorial Day” Offers under MY Offers OR VIP OFFERS.

I looked in my Junk Email too — just in case I actually received a email.

Carnival just does not send me all these Promo’s that I read other guests receive here on CC.

I get my 84 year old Mom’s emails. She gets Casino offers every week. 50% off etc etc. She hasn’t cruised since before Covid, now due to mental issues she can’t be cruising.

🛳🛳
