I LOVE that SWA allows 2 checked bags.

I HATE that SWA allows 2 checked bags.

I have done a 7 day cruise with a carry on & backpack…and still had a couple items I didn’ wear! BUT this time it is 14 days (yes, I COULD do laundry…and I have a couple Tide pods & dryer sheets…but that is valuable vaca time there…) which includes heavy items like 5 bottles of sunscreen (I usually take 3/wk for 2 of us), and that damn COVID kit. (COVID kit: meds, Puffs, thermometer, etc) You KNOW if I don’t bring it, we WILL contract it onboard.

SO…since I’m checking 2 bags anyway…my theory was pretty much, if I MIGHT use it, toss it in! 10 pair of shoes is a new record for me…(I have plantar fasciitis & numerous pair is a must, but I admit to overdoing it. TRUST ME–I could have brought more!)

(Photo is mid-packing...DH is packed, I have a few things in...)

I was done packing by 6pm–also a new record! Ran an errand, grabbed a bite & finally….a drink to reward myself!

We need to be on the road by 830AM, so will wrap up those loose ends & be on our way!

Love the pic!  It should be a game, how many suitcases do you see. LOL

Lol, just 2 for me, 1 for him.

Large one was 44lbs yesterday.

Re-evaluated—pulled heavy stuff could live w/o & a few clothes that I realize were maybe at best.

36 & 27 lbs each

And all 10 pair of shoes made it👍

Busiest airport has been in over 2 yrs.

Good to see (but I miss the light crowds the last 2 yrs)

Yeah it’s before noon.

But any flight after 10 requires a tradition. Cheers.

When we fly, no matter the time, it's five o'clock somewhere.  Looking forward to your live updates on the first leg of your cruise!

We always cross pack items in case a bag gets lost on the way to the ship.

I know we should…it never happens.

Even mine—underwear, shoes & swimsuit in one.

Rest if clothes & toiletries in the other.

It will be interesting if 1 goes missing😳

Oy, glad I had a delicious tequila cocktail in MDW.

Been sitting at the gate for 50 min.

Props to SWA flight attendants…they just did a little impromptu Journey lip sync to calm the restless masses.

Captain said there was a potential mechanical issue to look at but all is fine.

Now a passenger just deplaned. WTH

Bizarre.

Drink tix r ready & waiting.
FLY IN THE DAY BEFORE.

And bring your patience, ya’ll.

Those flight attendants r in no more control than us.

One of my favorite things to do in Fort Lauderdale is walking to the 17th Street Bridge the morning of a cruise to catch the first sight of my ship. I stayed at the Embassy Suites last time and could see my ship from my balcony. I still walked to the top of the bridge.

OK…Friday recap.

Forgot to mention Darryl whose bday it was. They fashioned a crown. Pretty creative. But drink tix r a legit gift!

Met Bunny & Ben from Omaha at baggage claim. Never too many Nebraskans to meet!

BEWARE the pseudo-cabbies at FLL!
Guy what looked like an ID in lanyard…

sigh, got me again!

Nothing wrong with these guys—both times were large luxury cars & know how to get out FAST….BUT it’ll cost ya double.🤬

Hilton lobby looks great. 5-10 min, & up to the room. 14th floor w/ a balcony (TOO HUMID TO USE).

Headed to outside bar. VERY busy at 9pm.

BE CAREFUL—almost added a tip b4 realizing it had been added. They r working hard & we tip well but that would have been impressively large!

Met Dan & Robin from OC & found they r on Caribe deck too!

This is why you should only go to the official cab line.

Never accept a ride from someone in the airport unless you've hired them ahead of time.

It is HOT HOT HOT.🔥🔥🔥

(NOT sure why I bothered to do my hair🙄)

Having not sailed her for 10 years, getting our bearings.

Strive to get to know servers & bartenders, learn where they r from & how to say their name right…we find this to be a lovely way to start a cruise.

I lose my appetite in the heat by DH but DH is getting a Salty Dog burger.
Impressive menu—NOT just burgers!

(apparently no hard seltzers onboard.

so a Mai tai is my “light” start)13721C3F-7D83-4FCD-A49C-EDB46F0F2866.thumb.jpeg.babb6d5b4d44afdf5955eacf2e717854.jpeg

Having been on Celebrity a lot in last 5 years (and new Edge class the last years, some observations:

—love the huge open closet that creates a dressing area but bath is tad smaller

—love the large balcony

—miss shelves on both sides of sink

—miss sofa/larger room on Celebrity, but not a huge deal.

closet - No Princess 'blue bag'?

No life jackets?

No robes?

Life jackets yes—Celebrity stores them in Muster station now (well, E class) which makes more sense.

no robe or bag

Just heard a dad tell his young daughter(5?6?) “if the ship is going down meet in the casino.

SERIOUSLY??!!

SO much wrong with that!

Wow

Listening to House band Xtasea—good but a bit jazzy for our taste.
It’s early, I’ll refrain from judgement.

We were sitting at bar at Crooners & couple sits next to us.

One cough, NBD.

Two!

LET’S WALK!

Ok…decided a nap was in order.
DH turns on tv…we already watched Muster video.

YOU CANNOT WATCH ANYTHING ELSE.

Gees🙄

Walked over to R side of bed. (Near bath)

There is a POP in the floor…like a giant weak spot in floor We can jump on it & it pops back & forth & lamp shakes!!!🤣🤣🤣

I don’t feel unsafe, but this is a first!

Beats toilet issues.
🙏That isn’t an issue
