All staterooms have a mini fridge…but it doesn’t get very cold, more like a mini cooler…so much so, that if u need to keep meds cool/cold, it’s recommended to store them in the medical fridge.

If you open the cabinet door to allow better air flow around the it fridge will cool better, it can't disapate the heat locked in a box with no air flow.

Very true, but even then many of them don't cool very well.

And as far as bringing soda on the ship, yes, each guest is allowed to bring up to 12 cans or cartons of a non-alcoholic beverage (no bottles allowed).

Not sure about all ships, on some of those older ships there is a thermostat in the back of the fridge that can be turned up. If you have the muscle, pull it out and look. .

Some of the higher category room have working mini fridges. Been in balconies, and suites, all with working refrigerators. Been in interior and ocean view, where it literally is an icebox in the shape of a fridge lol. They do make battery powered soda can chillers that will make your sis ice cold in about a minute and a half you can find on Amazon. As for drinks, yes, every passenger is allowed 12 cans or cartons of non alcoholic beverages and a 750ml bottle of wine. You can also take advantage of something called bon voyage which you can pre purchase a bottle of liquor to keep in your stateroom. That may be going away soon though.

I read that on here before my last cruise in April and it worked like a charm. One minor problem. The cabin steward kept closing the door. Good thing he only came in once per day.
