Changes to Room Service and Dr. Seuss Breakfast Returning

It is amazing how many members on here truly want every aspect of the traditional cruise experience to disappear so long as they can still sing the praises of the brand. Baffling that some seem to find pleasure that those who routinely used room service as part of their cruise experience now have to pay for it.

W🙄hat's the difference?

What happens in the MDR stays in the MDR.

The collection and washing and reusing of Room Service, MDR, and Buffet dishes is a constant, ongoing process.

Most MDR and Lido dishes never venture far from home.

This is craziness.....someone is actually hoping others will be restricted from taking a cheese plate from the MDR and instead forced to order it at a cost from room service under the guise of what dishes it dirties?  This is like the twilight zone.

Us simply being on the ship creates work for them - but that's the entire reason they are there to begin with. Give me a break.

But most people don't use room service, so why should everyone have to subsidize it? A couple of bucks for a cheese sandwich isn't going to break you

A cheese plate is simply an example. There is no lack of cheap people on cruise ships or any where else

I don't use the Lido bathrooms, they should be removed from all ships. I don't use the Sports Bar, I don't want to subsidize the cost of running those TVs. I don't use the weird bar of soap they leave in the rooms, I don't want the cost of that added onto my fare. Now you see how ridiculous all this sounds.

There has to be a happy medium somewhere, I certainly don't want to go on a cruise where we are all just fading on the gas there and back while packing our own food and eating instant noodles on board lol. I can see both angles and I don't view any use of an included amenity as wrong in any way. I also don't like the term "free", included is the correct term. I can also appreciate those who have been watching their included options shrink and aren't happy/excited about it. Interesting debate and certainly entertaining in the least lol. Enjoying the banter!

Truly. At the end of the day, there really are relatively few, albeit vocal, complainers

Very true.  By and large people are decent and want the best for everyone.  But the small vocal complainers are somehow changing everyday life for the majority that don’t even want the changes or even care about the complainers issue in the first place.  It’s a weird world we live in now.

I don't have or travel with kids.  I think people who do should pay for the privilege of sending them to Camp Carnival.

I'm not in recovery so I think the people who go to Friends of Bill W should pay to rent the space they use for meetings onboard.

I don't go to karaoke so I think people should pay per song.

I don't use the waterside so think people should pay per slide.

At what people does someone become so self-centered that only what they value should be included in the cruise fare, or so cheap that they're okay with Carnival becoming a Motel 6 on the seas, where your fare only includes your accommodations and you pay a la carte for everything you do, eat, or drink? Except of course what they personally value.

Because people don’t understand the economics of offering different things for different people and how those things keep the overall costs down for everyone.  Bars, casinos, spas, pictures, excursions (all of which have always cost additional amounts) keep the overall cruise fares down.  And when economics change, business decisions have to be made. If this type of cruising isn’t for you there are plenty other places to spend your money.
