Would you mind doing me a favor? I'm on her (again) for the Thanksgiving 4 night out of Galveston. I'm trying to find out whether or not they are discounting any of the beverage packages once you're onboard. I'm specifically looking at the Refreshment (non-alcoholic) package for my not quite yet 21 yo and while we have D and D+ coupons, he might not want to have to come find me or grandma if he uses up his 4 during any given day. We have OBC and I'm trying to figure out if they are pricing at full or they offer some discount once onboard that will make it ok to wait and see.

Thanks!

Sure, remind me later, as i may forget, but just take a snapshot in your head how much the packages are now.  My gut says it won't be discounted onboard, but i'll get the bottom line price.

Hansen, for your cruise to Bermuda, your trouble might be docking the ship in Heavy Seas, not so much as of the rainfall totals.

You have half a chance because you are probably docking at Kings Wharf, your ship would have no chance of docking in Hamilton because getting to the dock is a very narrow causeway. Ships are afraid to go in there with High Winds and Heavy Seas

I think the swells will subside by Monday which is when we dock at Dockyard.  Hopefully.  I have no idea how swells works, so i could be totally off mark here.

On another note, there are hints that NCL Getaway, leaving tomorrow from NYC to Bermuda is going to St. John, however, according to the role call, no one there has gotten any confirmation from NCL themselves about the reroute.  I was just telling @death_star that NCL has to make the decision of go/no go by Thursday morning before Fiona passes Bermuda.  That's a tough call there.  I suspect that NCL is hedging their bets by preparing St. John in case the decision to reroute is made.

Thanks. We don't need it for boarding day, since by the time you get settled, and get going, he'll have 4 drinks on his D, 4 drinks on my D and 5 drinks on my mom's D+. He can wait a day so I was trying to figure out if buying it in advance for the full 4 days vs. buying it on board on the day AFTER boarding is significantly different.

You think your kid will drink $20.00 worth of non-alcoholic drinks on top of the 4 or 5 drinks he gets as Diamond every day?  That's a lot of drinks.  It might be cheaper just to pay per drink after he runs out, on the off chance he can't find one of you to use your coupons.  I think that's the price per day for the Refreshment package (plus tip) online at the moment.

I'd normally think not, but the package also includes the milkshakes at JR which he likes but I'm not sure it's going to be worth it in the end. Just figured I'd have the numbers to decide since we have OBC available to use and frankly we don't have much to use it on.

Can you use diamond drinks on milkshakes?  I may try

Today is test day.  For anyone who's read my previous lives.  I've had BAD luck with the Emed tests.  Something always screws it up.  I really don't like them.  But you can't beat the convenience.  I debated on doing the on point thing, which was a little cheaper, but I hear that zoom has issues and I read somewhere (can't say) that people were having issues with their zoom appointments invalidating themselves after they've paid and made the appointment.  Anyways.  I had a slight issue.  I could not log on.  Apparently, you have to have TWO accounts.  1 with Navica, the app, and 1 with EMED.  My Emed one would not log on.  None of my passwords worked, so i tried to reset the password.  It would not send me a confirmation email.  Maybe I don't have an account.  Nope, email account exists.  Can't reset password.  Finally, I gave up and just created a new account and that got me in.  After that we get this.

YAY.  I'm Negative.  At least 50% of us are going on a cruise.  My wife has to test tonight.  I actually tested in my office.  So at least one of us is going!!!

If my wife can't go, I will probably go solo.  I actually don't need the points, but as this cruise is the last of the double point cruises, I would get a whopping 56 points as solo in a double occupancy.  I should be getting 28 with my wife, and I need 26 to get to Diamond Plus!!!

If your wife no shows, you most likely will not get the extra solo point.  If she cancels for Covid, IIRC, the whole cabin is cancelled.

Fortunately, we hit Diamond plus with this cruise together.  The extra 28 points will just get me to Pinnacle that much faster.  I noted with @death_star that after this cruise, I'm just 524 points until Pinnacle.

I'm 3 points until D++ (340 points) for reduced solo supplement.

I'll be on the Adventure with you.  Several months ago, I had to make a new password with eMed also. I did it via my computer.  Today, when I went to do my test, it worked perfectly.  So I hear your frustration about the password/account.  I also read about people having issues with onpoint on you know where.

I forgot to mention another snag that I'm just made aware of.

So I ordered 2 kits from EMED.  For some odd reason, I got two shipments.  One at home, one at my job which was odd.  When i ordered it, I intentionally had it shipped to my job, but of course, they ask for my billing address at home.

In the email description, they said "It may get shipped separately, if it does, you will not get charged".  I checked, and I have one order with EMED.  When i got the two shipments, to my surprise, they both had 2 tests in them.

So i was like yay, i got two for one.  Then my credit card statement came, and somehow, I got dinged twice.  Meh.  Did I mention i REALLY don't like them.  At least I got something out of it this time.  I can't really even complain because i actually got 4 tests instead of two.

But you paid for all four, as you were charged twice? Bummer!

Theres always a lot more to do before a trip than you think.  I thought we were almost done and then something else comes up.  So much so, we bailed on our plan tonight.  We were supposed to play Dungeons and Dragons as we would be unavailable the next two weeks.  But too much to do.

anyone who knows me knows that i find cruise coffee to be mostly undrinkable.  So here’s my stash.  Hopefully port security won’t stop me this time thinking the aeropress os drug paraphernalia.  This should last us two weeks.

Good Morning everyone.  Today is travel day.  I actually don't leave until after work tonight.  My travel plan may change slightly, and for the better.

Originally, we were going to make a short stop in Timonium, which is a suburb of Baltimore.  Why? Because we have to drop off this guy at my daughter's.

Open photo

This is Dobby.

I'll see him again before we leave as I generally go home to walk him during lunch.  He's a neurotic little guy.  We're going to miss him.  He's going to be so angry at us for leaving him.

Open photo

Here he is suspecting something is awry.  Poor little guy doesn't like being by himself much.

Anyways, I was saying my plans may change because the daughter may come pick him up before we get off of work.  This means we can pretty much go straight to the restaurant that we had planned to have dinner at.

On a side note, this is the first time in a while that I'm actually bringing my computer with me.  Partially its because for the first time in probably 8 years, I actually have a laptop again.  Well, a laptop that isn't ancient dated in the late 2000s.  I thought I could easily pull photos from Amazon Photo, which syncs with my phone and be able to type this on my laptop instead of my phone.  The phone always seems to glitch with cruise critic.  I'm not sure if its the interface, or the really slow internet on board.  I have 2 devices to share with my wife, but that really means I have 1 and she has 1 and i have to switch off between my phone and my laptop.  Again, i digress.  I found out that Amazon photos are NOT jpgs, but some other file.  I tried to attach the file here for those photos of Dobby and it didn't work.  Oh well.

Great news!   I don't know if stated previously but how many days prior to sailing date did you receive your TA approval from Bermuda?

Thanks.

I applied for the approvals about a month ago, and I got them last Monday on the 12th.  The webpage says they send it out a week before your sail date, so i got it early.

Thanks.  We're on your second cruise.   Test on Tuesday.  Will be tested on board for Bermuda.  No TA yet which we sent 30 days out.
